Sanity
By: Angel

I knock, but there is no answer.
I whisper hello, but there is no reply.
I close my eyes, but they won’t shut.
I’m death, and yet I hear every word spoken.
Lying still in my bed wondering, waiting to be dead.
The days go by so fast, but yet I’m still standing here!
The candle in me has burned out, it is so black and dead inside.
I feel like the black sheep, outcast from sanity!
Am I really a poet? Or am I just losing it all?
My dreams, nothing more than wandering thoughts, and lost visions.
My eyes, so empty, take a closer look, Now what do you see?
Hate, pain, suffering that’s me!
So many secrets lying deep inside, but yet I hide.
Scared of being judged by my thoughts.
I am a poet, not caring how I’m seen.
My life now nothing more than a dream.
So many secrets kept, but yet so many tears have been shed.
Will I ever be set free, out of this box which they try to conceal me.
Trying so hard to struggle and fight.
My soul is on fire, but yet it’s my strength.
It guides me through my deepest thoughts,
that try to take my sanity away.
2 the only ones keeping me sane. Sanity fading fast, disappearing with a cloud of anguish and hate.
When I knock, there is no answer.

Dedicated to John and Shelly, the only people keeping me somewhat sane.
I love ya’ll.

Promises
By: Angel

Promises are forever,
Promises are a whisper of words with secret meanings.
Promises can die and hurt, by being broken.
Promises to some mean life, when they are broken so is trust.
Some people depend on a promise for safety and hope.
When they aren’t kept the person loses faith and they begin to lose hope.
When a promise is broken,
So is a little child’s heart.

A promise was broken to me,
And it made me lose hope, childhood, faith, imagination,
Everything that makes a child special.
When a promise is broken a child’s dream dies,
Also the fire in their eyes dies dull.
One simple promise if broken,
Can ruin a child’s dream.
Every time a promise is broken,
A star in the sky fades out.
Soon there will be none,
And there will be nothing but darkness.
Have you ever seen a sky without stars?
A promise was broken and a child’s dream died.
When a new star appears a promise is made.
A child depends on promises
If we don’t keep them soon the world will be black,
You only get one chance at life.
Promises are what make children dream!

Why
By: Angel

Why must the world turn its back on me,
Why does life keep me down.
Will there ever be a chance for me
To succeed, to change, to grow,
I don’t think so.
No one’s giving me a chance to make myself grow,
A chance to take, you know.
If I only had one moment in time.
Always and forever would be my line.
Always and forever would be my line.
