The house of Morocco in Expo 92 of Sevilla, Spain was deemed wonderful by a lot of people. It was buit into hard an inspired of the traditional as well as the modern arabo-muslim art.

| This house was built in 1992, that is the same year celebrating the 500th anniversary of America's discovery. The process of building coincided with that of the mosque Hassan II, in Casablanca. Except the structure, all work of completion was carried out by moroccan craftsmen who evidenced a high degree of knowledge and of craftmanship. As we can gather

from this picture, modernity and tradition are intertwined with a great skill.

| Even before the work was completed, the house1s gates were wide open. This gave the visitors a good opportunity to see the craftsmen in action building item by item this precious work of art. At the highest floor, you can find a wonderful restaurant and cafeteria. Great personalities such as this majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain and the Prince Sidi Mohamed of Morocco. Overmore, on the level of its lower floor, there are spaces of exposure of great art. |
| The mixture of tradition and modernity is not only seen in the use of glass, but in the drawning and the forms as well. The fountains are a case in point. The most spectacular is the one which is between the ground floor and the basement. The fall of water drifts from the higher to lower floor.

We can apreciate on this picture a very fine work where the parts are only one centimeter (2/5 inch) in diameter. Part of these parts were worked directly on the walls. The others, on the other hand, were moulded and completed in the workshops using the modern technics without modifying of course ancestral models. These new technics were used to impove the output and to respect deadlines.

On its external space were held several cultural activities like folk dances of all the areas of Morocco. This space of almost of 10.000 m2 combines the rôle of an Arab garden and a cultural space of porduction.

| This house, in addition to its beauty testifies of a thousand-year-old architectural art. It is the amabassador of the best craftsmen one can find in the world. Craftsmen who have all difficulties of the world to survive. It is finally the symbol of the friendship between the people of all the world.

| What i am driving at is that officials should become aware of the problem and do something for this beautifull building before it falls into ruin. Almost all the houses which exist over there were converted. I think we must save this wonderfull work of art and now. |
