Poetry of Jelaluddin Rumi

translated by Coleman Barks

Rumi was a 13th Century Sufi, who founded the "whirling dervishes". The Sufis are Islamic mystics, who seek union with God in this life. Here is some of his poetry, taken from the book "The Essential Rumi", by Coleman Barks. If you get the chance, please do yourself a favor and pick it up. This is one of the most beautiful collections I have ever read.
