Here's Some of My Poetry, Read and Enjoy
A poem is the proverbial window to one's soul. One of the most ancient, as well as the most beautiful forms of self expression is poetry. Please enjoy the ones i have posted.
The Crossing
This poem was originally written as a project for an English class, The subject was old age, but as i wrote the poem I realized that the poem related not only to that, but to many different aspects of life.
So Many Questions
This poem is rather dark... and no, despite contrary belief it is NOT a cry for help... It was simply a release of emotions at the time. I rather like this one as it is my favorite due to the passion put into it
The Dance
This poem is the only one i've ever written like it. Do not be decieved by the title, it is not a love poem.
Day Dream
This poem is one that will slowly work it's way into the heart of any romantic.
Just Breath
This poem was written to keep in my back pocket to give me hope when i felt like i was ready to give up. It reminds us what some of the most important things in life really are.
Ray Of Light
This poem is simply to remind everyone that things are not always all that they appear to be.
The Question of Love
This is a true romantic poem that describes the incredible feeling of being in love.
One Solitary Leaf
This poem is a metaphor for life, I was looking out my window on a cold winters day and saw a single leaf hanging there all alone.
Tears
This is the way I feel about crying, no other way to word that. I needed to cry and I somehow had to describe how I was feeling.
To Heal You
This poem just needed to be written, there's no way of explaining it as it holds it's own personal meaning.
Envy
This poem I wrote after
reading another woman's poetry, which in all truth, puts mine
to shame, and oddly enough, it inspired me!
Funeral
I wrote this poem after
a great change in a friendship of mine, which changed it
so that it would never again be the same.
Dream Catcher
This poem is one about the fears and worries that I have in my life. This is my second published works. Check it out in "Poets and Poetry" by Global Publishers Inc.
The Game
This poem i wrote when
I reached one of those "bumps" that we all end up finding in
life and in relationships, just more of my own fears that
had to get out on paper.
Hidden Darkness
I wrote this poem because
I am recognizing more and more, how people all become themselves
at night, while during the day, they quite often hide who they
are.
Beauty
With all the hype surrounding my graduation, and the emphasis put on being beautiful, I couldn't help
but to give in to temptation and purchase make up. Yet despite the fact that women look quite
beautiful all "dolled up" I couldn't help feeling like a total fraud, hence this poem
Curtain Call
This poem was written based on a random collections of doodling on a page. Amazing what can come of something that was really nothing.
She
In this poem I let myself think of the emotions that would come of an event that I know would never happen, but the poem is based on the "what if" factor
Faux
Faux is the french word for false and is the heart of what this poem is mostly about.
In A Room Full of People
A Social Commentary on our views of being alone.
You Swore
A Poem about the hurt and healing in a relationship
In A Box
A Social Commentary on Freshmen College Women in Certain Areas
To Be a Wall
This is a comparison of people to walls, draw what you will of it.
You're Gone
A Poem dealing with the end of a relationship
Sweet Solitude
This Poem is based mostly on knowing who you are but it can hold many other meanings to it if you look close enough.
Burned
Yet another pain filled disturbed poem that can encompass any number of issues
Desire
This is my first attempt at Semi-Erotic Poetry. Rated PG 16. I would like some constructive criticism on this piece as it is my first. On a side note, this poem is supposedly getting published in poetry.com this summer, like many other people...in fact everyone who submitted a poem to them is supposedly a semi-finalist. Please watch out for this company, they basically just want your money in exchange for publication in a vanity press.
Lost and Found
This title is self explanitory. It's about things lost and found
She Is
A Social Commentary on what men view as being the "ideal woman"
Blindfolded Before Death
This is a collaborative project done by both myself and my fiance. The artwork is his and the poetry is mine. I feel that so many pieces of art speak out and seem to tell a story, and so I wrote the story that I felt went along with this particular piece. Please take a look at this piece and offer some commentary as this is my fiance's first piece published on the net! Thank you so much!!!
The Lady In The Lake
This is the second collaborative project between my fiance and I. Unfortunately I feel that I must rate this piece as yes, you will see and hear about breasts... so if you are terribly offended by such please don't continue. On the other hand, it is art and nothing to be ashamed of. Please give this piece your time and consideration we both spent alot of time on it. As I side note I have chosen to make both this piece and the previous as lyric poems because I feel it gives it more of a sense of a ballad or an ancient story. I hope you enjoy!
Tell me Why You Cry
This poem is a little bit on the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" side. It's sort of happy and flowing, originally I sort of wrote it like someone speaking to me, or perhaps I was imagining I had a friend like that.
I cry
I wrote this poem because of a novel I had read. In the story the students were given a story to begin a poem with "In the darkness of night". And so I decided to do it on my own as well.
Buried
I wrote this poem because of frustrations I felt about people not really knowing who I am.
Trapped
This is a poem I wrote when I was still in High School. The assignment was to write a poem about winter, and I decided to take a different direction with it than the usual poems about snowmen and snow ball fights and lovers in the cold, etc. I'm really quite proud of it for it being a poem from school.
Can't Believe
I wrote this poem for my fiance way back when before we were ever engaged.
Half Moon
This is actually a true story, placed in poetic form.
Permission
Before my fiance proposed to me, he asked my father permission for my hand first. This poem was written after that very night.
The Rock
No, this poem is NOT about the wrestler! It's actually fairly straight forward and is about the feeling of helplessness that we all so often feel.
Shattered Glass
This poem can have many different meanings to it. I think what I draw from it most is that often we read too much into things, or perhaps that sometimes we don't read enough into them. But if I were to say that it was this poem's only meaning, it would be wrong of me, for I like to think that the reader will draw their own personal meanings from my poems.
I was Beautiful
This is another one of my poems that touches on my toughts about beauty.
The Girl By The Window
I wrote this poem as if I were someone else, looking in at myself and what they would think of me, and how it would inevitably affect their own life and thoughts. It's a nice fantasy.
Sonnet I
This is my first, and so far only Sonnet. It was originally written for a High School English class, but I evolved it into a gift for my fiance.
Explaination
An explaination of my love, need I say more?
Nightmare
I wrote this poem when I was basically really miserable and was thinking that horrible things were going to happen when they didn't.
I Love
I wrote this poem about my fiance when I was just in one of those really good in love sort of moods.
I Hate
I wrote this poem as to accompany I love, when I was in a rather depressed hopeless sort of mood.
Sometimes
This poem is my commentary on how society views women and how women feel the need to conform to those views
I Missed You
I wrote this poem to describe one person who i thought was my friend but who turned out to sacrifice her personality for the typical college goals of society.
A Petal without Thorns
This is a love poem i wrote to describe my fiance and my feelings for him.
A Winter of Sorrow
This poem was in part inspired by part of some prose that I once read. Unfortunately i can't remember which piece that was, but here is my own original creation
Loneliness is a Drink Best Served Dry
I'm not really sure where this poem came from except from a miserable mood. I thought it was pretty good though so you might as well give it a read
