I KNOW

I know I was thinking of you today

about the things that we have shared

then another thought crossed my mind

I wondered why you cared.

I know just what you'll say
its because of the friendship and kindness you recieve
but somehow there seems to be more
at least that's what I believe.

I know that you've built walls
to protect you from lifes sorrow
but I hope they won't get in the way
of what he can have tomorrow.

I know there is another
the one you're giving a second chance
it is the thing that I wish I had
instead of a friendly glance.

I know that I have hope
in what the future could bring
that you and I may share
that most wonderful and beautiful thing.
