The Beginning of Trials and Tribulations

The beginning actually started in Nov. 1998.
Peaches as we will call her, found herself in the Hospital ER being told she had just had a miscarriage.
Miscarriages were not new to her since she had contracted Lupus.
But it was hard for her and her new husband to take still.
He promised her they would try again and have their baby together.
After a loving embrace and a deep cry, they drove home.
Even though Peaches had Lupis, she was able to give birth to 4 children that thrived.
The oldest at this time was a 16 yr old girl.
Then there was a 12 yr old boy who had a heart problem due to her disease while she was pregnant.
Next was a healthy 8 yr old girl and a 3 year old daughter that had been born in her 7th month.
He had children from another marriage who visited on weekends.
And thus was their life when it all began.

The beginning of 1999 was strange to her.
She waited for her body to get back to her original thin self.
Even though she was still 25 lbs underweight, she still felt pregnant.
She had times of severe bleeding and cramping. Things just didn’t feel right.

A trip to the Hospital told her what was wrong.
She was pregnant, but not 1 month as she thought. She was 4 months!
She had Never miscarried in Nov. like she was told!
And that was not all, She was pregnant with Twins!
She and her hubby was so happy but worried also. She was put on bed rest.
This was a dangerous pregnancy. It all heated up when she went into her fifth month.

In the middle of Feb. I got a call. She was in the Hospital. She had lost her twins.
One was a girl and one a boy.
She had gone into early labor and they couldn’t stop it.
The girl had died before birth but the boy just after.
He took a few breaths and stopped.
They were under the weight they should have been. Less then a pound each.
They had not grown as they should have.

I ran to the Hospital where she was in the back, away form the new born babies.
Her husband was with her and they greeted me with a sad look.
She had to have a blood transfusion as she usually does after a pregnancy but was home in a week.
The whole pregnancy seemed doomed from the beginning.
But leaves you with many questions and no answers.
Thus the year or Trials and Tribulations had begun.
