Surprises


Peaches has a tendency to not eat especially when she is depressed
so I asked her to stay with me a few.
She cried and asked the questions. But she was a woman who’s children kept her strong.
She had decided not to go back to her home and to find a new one.
Once his 7 yr. old was back home with her mother and
Peaches 7 yr. Old was home here, we searched for a new place for her.
A few weeks later, she found she was pregnant! She couldn’t believe it!
She must have gotten pregnant just before Kaheem died.
She felt as if he had reached out to her from beyond the grave to give her a present.

We drove the doctors at once and started the 9 months pregnancy doctoring.
I asked her to stay with me till the baby was born.
I was afraid she would not be able to get bed rest by herself or be too depressed
during the time thinking of the father of her unborn babies and not eat.
She found a great doctor that she felt at ease with.
I became her coach and went to most of her visits.
The doctor read her history. He immediately told her it was a very dangerous pregnancy
and to be prepared just in case.
He referred to her a specialist whom we sought council from time to time
but we stayed with the O.B we first went to.
She loved his calming bedside manor, honesty and ability to call a specialist when it was time for one.
(He was kinda cute too)

She began a series of ultrasounds and tests.
I attended her every step of the way telling her how great she was doing.
She was eating and getting rest as she was suppose to. Soon she started bleeding again.
We ran to the doctors who did an ultrasound which showed things were okay.
I looked closer at the screen and asked them, “Is that two sacks I see there?”
“Sure is, she has twins.” they replied.

They must have thought Peaches was upset because she broke down in tears.
But it was the other way around. She was overjoyed! She couldn’t believe it!
We told the technicians that she had lost a set of twins the beginning of the year.
Then it was their turn to be surprised. It is very unusual to be pregnant with twins twice in the same year.
We hugged, ran home and prayed.
But the pregnancy was till a danger, to them and to herself.
Her last live birth was almost the death of her and her 3lb girl 3 years ago.
So the even stricter bed rest began.....
