What Could Have Been

I think of the past at what could have been,
Knowing that it is now and I can't change then.
The choices I made then was either good or bad,
That things I did then made me happy or sad.
Everything I did back then has made me,
I know who I am now is what I want to be.
Do to others as you want them to do to you,
Throughout my life that is what I do.
For I can not control what others do or say,
That is how I live each day.
So I wake each day knowing who I am,
As problems arise I deal with them.
I know that life is not always pleasent,
Doubts and worries are forever present.
So I can only be me no matter where I go,
To be honest and sincere is all I really know.
I am glad the way things have turned out,
What could have been I am without a doubt.
