Allan Holdsworth

ALLAN HOLDSWORTH has a very distinctive style. It usually takes only a few seconds for the listener to know it is Holdsworth on guitar. His solo albums are excellent, but my personal favorites are his recordings with the band, UK. One of Holdsworth's first bands was TEMPEST.

I think this photo best sums up what Holdsworth's guitar artistry is all about: He plays solos like he is playing, and somehow makes them sound like, a violin.

The I.O.U. recordings are excellent. CHAD WACKERMAN is a great drummer, and the I.O.U. album "ROAD GAMES" with JACK BRUCE on bass and vocals is well worth a listen.
