The Elephant
The Elephant
Silent and massive it moves
The green sea rustles
Swishing its giant tail
Wind bellows through the grass
Making the beasts presence known
Land hungry and poor
Adventure seekers and people come
Chisel a life, prosper
Children grow, towns flower
Giving hope for a new future in the wind
Fortunes change and the wind howls
Creedence is given to old legens
The beast is sighted
It's tail swishes upsetting the balance
Life signs ebb
Where ancestors once trod
The Children flee
Years go by and fortunes dwindle
The elephant grows louder
Swishing its tail mocking the survivors
