The Old English Sheepdog Ring

Welcome to the Old English Sheepdog (OES) Ring Home Page which was created June 23, 1997 in an effort to join OES owners and lovers of the breed from all walks of the Internet in a giant ring!

The OES Ring contains pages of OES's/friends of OES who are sharing their culture/personal experiences with an OES with everone on the web.

All we ask is that your ring pages be:

1. OES oriented.

2. Rated "general" (a must).

3. Must not contain any obscene or offensive graphics or words.

4. No reference to sex or drugs in link pages.

5. No commercial pages, unless they pretain to OES's Please.

If your pages can not or do not follow these rules, please do not bother going any futher. Failure to follow these rules will force us to remove you from the "Old English Sheepdog Web Ring.

By using the ring, you can travel from one OES Ring homepage to another until you will eventually end up on the page you started at. The Ring also enables you to go to the next site, skip a site, see the next five sites, or travel to a random site wihtin the OES Ring.

If you are interested in joining the ring (and I hope you are), please complete and submit the form below. The inspiration for The Old English Sheepdog Ring comes from my Cajun Friends at the Cajun Ring (Char and Mark) without whom this Ring Would not exist.

Step 1:

Membership Form: This form must be completed in full in order for you to be added to the queue. When filled in, click on "Add To Queue", and you will automatically receive an on-line E-mail message to that fact with your site number and password on it. (NOTE: The password is whatever you choose to make it.) You will also receive an e-mail confirming this addition to the queue and the HTML Code to insert ( cut and paste ) to your homepage with all information added except your name that you wish to name your site. If you do not receive this e-mail with the code please notify me at yoda@pyramid.net and I will mail it direct to you.

Step 2:

After you add your page to the queue, an e-mail will be sent to you containing the HTML code fragment you will need to enter on your home page

Copy this HTML into your homepage; you can cut and paste from the e-mail or open the document source and copy and paste the code right into your own home page document (from the edit command on the tool bar of your editor or publisher) or click here to view and cut and paste the HTML Example.

1. Put your "ID NUMBER" where it says 'YOURIDHERE' (six different places).

2. Put your "E-MAIL ADDRESS" where it says YOUR ADDRESS@HERE. 

The graphics should automatically load into your document, but it is suggested that you download them to you site. If you have problems, please e-mail me. You must replace the info in "mail to:" with your e-mail address and the second blank with either your e-mail address or your name.

Fill out the form above to register your site and write down the Site ID number you are assigned when received. This will put your page in The OES Ring 'Queue' where it will remain until you are added into the ring. This does not insert you into the ring. The actual insertion is done later.

Be sure to change the __ on the reference of:

and delete the blanks for each of the references in the HTML code. There should be six references when done.

NOTE: If you use frames, be polite! You'll need to free the browser from frames on the out click with a Target command, something along the lines of:

A HREF="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=oes&id=yourid#&next" TARGET="_top"

This will preserve your site while not destroying the next site in the configuration...

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Upon completion of your insertion of The OES Ring logo into your chosen page, please send the "RINGMASTER" an e-mail informing us of such and ask to be added to the OES Ring.. Be sure to include your Site ID Number and URL of the page that the logo appears on. We will want to look at your pages. Please don't e-mail and ask to add you to The OES Ring until the OES fragment has been installed on your page.

We will then add you to the ring, and you should receive an e-mail informing you of such. To ensure smooth operation of this ring, please place the logo on the same page as the URL you list. This will make surfing our ring much easier for everyone involved.

Our friends have surfed many areas where logos for other rings are completely hidden without links, and it is very frustrating to encounter. If for some reason you wish to make a ring page, where all of your ring membership logos are listed, please ensure that the reference to that page is easily accessible from the URL page you list. With everyone helping each other, this ring will be one of the best. Thank you in advance for your support !

Many people have and are entering a page in the queue and never doing anything else. As of the creation date, pages that sit in the queue for 30 days and still do NOT have the HTML Fragment installed, and have NOT contacted the Ringmaster, will be removed from the queue without notice. You will then need to re-register your page. If you have any questions Please e-mail the "RINGMASTER"
