Piercing FAQ





Before having a piercing check that the
following procedures are being adhered to.



1. It is a registered piercing studio - look for the certificates.

2. Your piercer is wearing gloves and protective clothing and has hair tied back.

3. Ask if they have a autoclave (sterilising unit).

4. All surfaces are smooth and wipe able including the floor.

5. Needles are disposable.

6. All dressings they will use for you are sterile packed.

7. Your piercer washes their hands before they pierce you.

8. All instruments are autoclaved or disposable.

9. All jewelry is sterile packed.

10. After care advice and adequate information is given to you.

11. There is 24hr access to your piercer in case of bleeding.

12. Your piercer does not carry out too many piercings on your body at one given time.

13. Does not attempt to carry out piercings which are medically irresponsible.
