ICQ is a relatively new program that is out. With this program you can page friends, family, or anyone you want. The only catch is, they have to have the program too. There are versions out for virtually all platforms. Windows 95, MacIntosh, Windows NT, and others.


I have been using ICQ for a couple months now, and I find it really easy to use, and it has saved me a lot of hassle. If I wanted to chat with my friends before, I had to either e-mail them or load up IRC and talk to them that way. With e-mail, I usually get a reply within the day or the next day or so. With IRC, I usually get caught chatting with people for longer than I had planned. ICQ makes this easier, because I can leave them a message without having to worry about chatting for too long and missing appointments and work, or waiting all day for that e-mail response. ICQ allows me to send instant messages and chat with friends briefly if I have time.
