We had a bit of a scare recently... Keira was hit by a car, less than a week before her 6th birthday :( Let me tell you, seeing an ambulance, 3 police cars and 15 people huddled around your daughter lying in the middle of the road is one sure way to take 20 years off your life!! We were very fortunate, and she is fine :) God was watching out for her, and she got away with a minor concussion and some bruises and scrapes... It sure did make me think, though. It made me take a long, hard look at what is truly important in life, and how blessed we are just to be here and to have each other. Waking to each sunrise, having children and friends and laughter and love in my life, actually LIVING each moment to the fullest, and not just going through the motions... these are the gifts that we all have been given! We just have to open our eyes and see the positive side of each and every thing that happens in our lives! And for me, personally, I choose to thank my God for all of the gifts in my life. I have been truly blessed! A saying I recently heard that sums up the way I feel is "Do not grieve that your roses have thorns. Rejoice instead that your thorns have roses!" Attitude Rules!! |
