FOOD!!!

UPDATED May 2007!!!!!!

I just thought I'd get on this page and update a little bit. I'm leaving the initial story that I put on here last year. The update is down at the bottom of the page.

Any of you who know me, or have read about me, or have seen my pictures. I have what doctors call, "a little bit of a weight problem" *Tommy Boy-1995* Sorry, that's one of my favorite movies. The thinnest I've weighed since I've been a teenager/young adult was 195. The fattest I've been is 365. Ten years ago I was able to overcome my eating problems, or at least supress them, and lose about 100 pounds. By September of 1996 I weighed 195. It was pretty nice!

But school ended, I got a license, so I drove everywhere instead of riding my bike. Also, the following year I went to college, so I was living on my own, which wasn't good for me. I gained all my weight back eventually. By Winter of 2002, I was tipping the scales at around 365 pounds. A pound for every day of the year. *stupid joke*

For about a year, I slowly lost about 60 pounds. But a basketball injury stopped my efforts. I broke a bone in my foot and couldn't put weight on it. Instead of doing upper body exercising and cutting back eating, I got depressed and hogged out. By the time the cast came off, I gained about 35 pounds back.

Over the next year and a half, I would lose about 15 pounds, then gain them back. Lose 10 pounds, then gain them back. I couldn't find what I had back in 1996. Then my life would change.

My father bought Dr. Phil's book "The Ultimate Weight Solution" a couple of years back, and let me borrow it. I wasn't reading too much at the time, so I didn't read it. It just sat on the book shelf collecting dust.

Last Winter, I started reading again. I read the Harry Potter books as well as books from one of my favorite authors Stephen King. One night in Augustof 2005 I was looking at my small and dissappointing collection of books, and Dr. Phil's book was just laying there. I said to myself "I think I'll take that to work tonight and start reading it." So I took it to work, and started reading it. I was skeptical at first because I've been on diets, and I've been trying to lose weight for years and years and years. But I stuck it out, and read the whole thing.

So this is what I did: I started writing down what I ate for three or four days before I officially started my new way of eating and living and exercising. I was averaging over 3500 calories a day. It was embarrassing. On Friday, August 19th, 2005, I stepped on the scale, and I weighed 340. I was only 25 pounds from my highest weight ever.

I knew it would be hard at first. The hardest part was going to be keeping with it for the first few weeks. Surprisingly though, it wasn't that difficult. The most difficult things are when there's family get togethers or parties at friend's houses, or Holiday dinners. Those days I'll still overeat. That's okay. But it's soooo much easier just sticking to my calorie goals and exercise goals.

But anyway, here is my bi-weekly results:

Update!

Since June 23, 2006, this is how I've been doing. Throughout the summer of 2006, I slowly lost about another ten pounds, taking me down to 226. In late October, I had my gallbladder taken out because of several stones that formed in there. Once it came out, I felt like I had the freedom to eat whatever I wanted to again. Over the next few months, I gained about 25 pounds. Right now (May 2007) I am weighing 250. The highest weight I saw, which was about a month ago was 260. I've been able to slowly start the weight loss again. I hope that I am on the right track. I will try to get in here and update again in a few months, so you can see where I'm at.

Alright, since this is my food page, I'll talk about my favorite foods.

Hoagies! I love hoagies! I probably have hoagies at least once a week. But of course I don't pig out on hoagies like I used to. More often than not, I only get half a hoagie now. I get just as satisfied eating a half as I used to get eating a whole. Also, I like burgers and fries, Hawaiian pizza, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and Doritos. But I also love bananas. I try to always have bananas around so I can snack on one if I get hungry at night.

Favorite drinks would be Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. If you've never tried it, I recommend trying it. It's tasty! Also, Aquafina flavorblasts are good, especially the berry flavor.
