(I have listed the major Sabbat for the month of February, moon phases and their waxing and waning periods, as well as some days of celebration for specific "Gods". Please e-mail me if you have any special days you would like added to the calendar)
(CANDLEMAS: The "Feast of Lights" also known as Imbolc is an ancient fire festival celebrating the Goddess of Fertility. It is a sweeping out of the old to usher in the new. It is a celebration of thanks for a safe winter and a welcoming of the coming of spring and fertility. This is the time of year when the Goddess returns to us and the God begins to retreat until the Autumnal Equinox.
(ESBAT: The Witches monthly coven meeting is called the Esbat and is held 13 times each year during the full moon.)                                                                                                                (This month the new moon falls on a particularly auspicious night, the beginning of the Chinese New Year. On the 5th will be the start of the Year of the Dragon. Interestingly enough during the day will also be the occurance of a partial solar eclipse. The whole day will be a time of power from midnight on the 4th to midnight on the 5th. Grab your tools, your athame and take advantage of this time.)
