To Princes William and Harry

This little page devoted to the both of you, is a letter I wrote, and was intended for you both to read.

First of all, I am 16, young like you two are, and I know what it is to be strong. And to have to go through what you two unfortunately have had to go through at such a young age, is heartbreaking.

William and Harry, it has been but one single week since that devistating day that I, like the whole world, will never forget. I came home Saturday night, and my mother told me something terrible had happened to Diana, but I have to admit, I thought she would be alright. Then twenty minutes later, she came into my room, crying, and said, "She's dead." I cannot explain the overwhelming shock and whirlwind of emotions I felt, along with great denial and disbelief. Instantly I thought, "Oh my God, her sons!" I felt absolutely terrible.

As what seems like a month has passed, and the funeral was now two days ago, I've had a chance to reflect on what has happened to such a wonderful woman.

William, you have your mother's smile, shyness, and most important her good heart, optimism and strength.

Harry, you also share those three immaculatly important characteristics of your mother's. Hang on to them. Cherish them.

Yes, you two are suffering a great deal, and recovering from a terrible shock. But, you must remember one thing: Weakness builds Strength. I think your mother knew this better than anyone else. After all she's been through, she was able to overcome her obstacles, and in her last few months, she was able to shine through, and finally be happy.

Your mother has started building you into exceptionally fine young men. Now, it is up to you to finish where she left, and help one another to grow and strive to be all you can be.

You both knew your mother more than anyone else has and ever will. She would want you to grieve and "sing openly", as your uncle has so excellently pointed out. But, as he has also said she was not our mother, how great your suffering must be, we cannot even imagine.

William, you will make a wonderful king one day, and your mother would be so proud of both of you. It is such a sin that she will not be there to see you both grow up under her influences. Although, that does not mean she will not watch you from wherever she may be.

Stay strong, and dont change.

Amy
