POISON HISTORY!

The first time Bret and Rikki met was when Rikki came to their house to cut Bret's sisters hair(he later became the bands hairstylist).

They formed Poison in 1984, at that time they called the band Paris. It consisted of Bret Michaels, Rikki Rockett, Bobby Dall, and Matt Smith(who later left the band). Then Poison had to find a new lead guitarist. The final two they had to choose from where C.C Deville and Slash(of Guns'N'Roses). C.C won(thank god)!

POISON recorded their debut album "Look What The Cat Dragged In" in 1986, just after signing with Capitol Records. Cry Tough was the debut single, but when Talk Dirty to Me, the second single, was released, things were never the same. No more clubs and small venues, it was stadiums and large arenas from there on out.
But the best was yet to come.....

In 1988 POISON released Open Up and Say Ahh! as their follow up.
The album spawned 4 Top 10 Singles, including the #1 smash Every Rose Has It's Thorn!!!The Opening act days were over forever. With Fallen Angel, Nothing But A Good Time, and Your Mama Dont Dance, POISON became one of the leaders in rock, with the album selling over 8 million copies....
After some controversy over the original cover(it was banned)the second cover was released showing only the eyes of the demon woman.

In 1990 POISON released yet another chart buster, Flesh & Blood.
Unskinny Bop became a really big hit(the poisonsong that made me a die hard fan).
Other Top 10 hits included Ride The Wind, Something To Believe In, Life Goes On, and Flesh N Blood (Sacrafice).
The album broke the 5 million mark in record sales, continuing POISON'S reign at the top, along with one of the biggest and most successful world tours ever afterwards. POISON could get no higher.....Until CC DeVille left the band.(A sad day for any real Poisonfan)

POISON was determined to continue their success, and signed Richie Kotzen as their new lead guitarrist.
With Richie they released "Native Tongue" in 1993.
Native Tongue did not live up commercially to POISON'S previous success.
"Stand" was the first single released, and did hit the Top 10, but things died quickly there after words. POISON embarked on a world tour, that did very well, but didnt quite achieve the fan turnout of previous POISON tours.
Richie was later threw out of the band for stealing Rikki Rockett's girlfriend(they are now married)(What a way to show your gratitude for getting the chance to play in the greatest band ever huh) And not only that. Rumourse says he took the credit for the whole "Native Tongue"-album too. Said he wrote all the stuff. Maybee he did. I mean after all. Look at my Poison recordpoll. That album is in last place :).

Richie was replaced by Blues Saraceno that finished the Native Tongue tour with Poison and also recorded The album Crack A Smile under Poor Boy Records with Poison.
But as of now it is unrealeased. It featured Blues Saraceno and others on lead guitar.
Songs include Cover Of The Rolling Stone, Let Me Be The One, and Best Thing You Ever Had.

Today CC is back in the band, and POISON is on their major summer tour as we speak, selling out venues everywhere, and have plans for a new album late this year.

Bret Michaels is also pursuing a career in the movie business.
In october 1998 A Letter From Death Row was released.
A psycho-thriller written, co-produced, co-directed, and scored by Bret Michaels.
Five other movies are in the work as we speak.
