This is a photo of the "cast" of Spongebob Squarepants, one of the hippest new cartoons on Nickelodeon, and one I find absolutely hilarious. I'm not kidding! It's really funny! The main character lives in a pineapple-shaped house underwater, for heavens sake! There are a lot of jokes in that show that are only readily apparent to older, wiser adults. Kinda like how the Flintstones was for my parents' generation.

Some Thoughts...

That's it for now. The last time I updated this page, I was a sophomore and thinking that I wasn't going to survive organic. Now it looks like organic was the easy part!

If I survive biochem 1 it will be on to biochem 2, and then biochem 3. (Lucky me...) I am working in a lab, on my own departmental honors project with everyone's favorite laboratory organism, Drosophila melanogaster, the fruit fly. I have, in a sense, become one with the fly - no I do not need a sedative :-) It's been a very long, hectic semester and not too many things went according to plan. One great thing that has happened to me was that I got to meet B*Witched in person when they visited the area in late October. They are really nice gals and I'm glad I got the opportunity - they signed their new CD for me! It was probably the most exciting thing ever to happen in the 20 years of my life.

One thing is that I am extremely superstitious and I've been following the Chinese beliefs of feng shui - that is, your living and working environment greatly affects your health and happiness. As those close to me know, I have a chronic disease which I won't go into detail here, which taxes my energy and patience time and time again. I'm on different medications all the time and it's a wonder I don't completely have a nervous breakdown thinking about my situation and how I've been wronged somehow for being diagnosed with a disease with no cure in sight - yet.

I think, though, that 'N Sync has been one of the three factors that has gotten me through this semester in one piece. The second has been all the great online friends I have met through the fandoms of 'N Sync, Backstreet, Beatles, and Paul. There are too many people to name here, but I'll pick out a couple special angels.

• Berni - the biggest J.C. and Brian fanatic I will ever know, unless I overtake the title! LOL. The best founder and friend a J.C. fan could ever have. We'll invade Rosie O'Donnell yet!
• Cheryl - we'll always remember September 19th, 1999, won't we? Keep reading and writing those fanfics.
• Manda - soon to be Jordan's girl. *grin* My "little sister" is growing up. Here's to you, best wishes for happiness and health in 2000.
• Eric - the original "Paperback Writer." May the stars above you always shine bright. Vanderbilt may be far away but I'll never forget you - although I take a long time to write.
• Above all, my good friend Christie has given me renewed strength. Christie, I say thank you for being my virtual rock, to lend a virtual ear and shoulder. We'll be sisters forever. You have an incredible gift as a poet, as a painter, as a writer, and in the future your name will be in lights I'm sure. But most of all by being a friend through thick and thin - we've been through practically everything together. Thanks for being there; musical Matchsticks and songs named "Brian" forever... :-)
• To 'N Sync I would like to say a BIG thank you for providing me with some of the greatest songs I have and will ever hear. And providing me some sanity in this unpredictable and sometimes cruel world of ours. A couple months ago I had to face a personal health crisis that I faced pretty much alone, none of my friends could even begin to understand the pain I felt (literally and emotionally). There have been so many times when I could have given up on my dreams and yet I still managed somehow to pick myself up and begin again. And mostly I can surely say I felt a whole lot better after listening to your CD because it always makes me smile to hear a good beat, fantastic lyrics, and amazing voices. THANKS, you don't know how much you all mean to me and I can't really put it into words, for once in my life I am speechless.
