Voices
from the Ground
They come from all over the
world to call out the name of the band that inspires their soul. A band
that will stand for hours and sign ever last item a fan has to offer. The
band known by many as Metallica has created one of the lagest fan bases
ever to exist. The fans will wait for hours just to hear the cruching heart
pounding music that started a wave in music from the early days of hair
bands to the current rap metal. |

Picture of Metallica Fans at a Met-Concert
|
Metallica's fans
reach from all over the globe including Europe, Asia, North and South America,
and possibly the deep regions of the North Pole. The constant touring scheudal
of Metallica, puts the band right in the center of the fans base area.
In recent years, Metallica's fan club and website have created a current
and close link to the band-fan relationship.
 |
The Met Club offers
fans the latest in merchandise, news, and specials. It also offers member
special things such as backstage passes, band meeting, and special "fans
only" concerts. During normal concerts, fans are encourged to meet the
band; take pictures; and in earlier years, to record the concerts for their
own personal use.
Metallica fans spend
tons of time designing webpages (such as this one) for the band and other
fans. Online met-commuinties are a way for other fans to stay in touch
and keep updated on the latest happening with the band. |
Metallica's fans
range from the older fans, that were with the fan in the begining, to the
newer fans that join the fan base recently. With more hits then half the
music community,
Metallica have been described as
the Led Zeppelin of modern rock. Not only do fans buy and collect everything
but also inspire the band to keep doing what they're doing. Die hard fans
collect demos, cd, tapes, records, shirts, and any/everything Metallica
related.
As a fan, I think
that Metallica realizes how important their fans are. When they first started
(back in the early early day) they were excited when anyone enjoyed the
music and they still are that way to this very day. When you go to a concert,
you get what you payed for and more. Metallica tries to give back to their
fans as much as possible. Although, most importantly, without the fans
there would be no Metallica, no fourhorsmen, and no Master of Puppets. |
