Tarot
The Tarot cards are one of the divination tools used today. It's history dates back to around 1470. I personally like the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. There are some really unique decks out there to chose from. Rider is the most common used. I personally didn't like the book that came with it, It was too confusing to read. I took a class on Tarot readings through a local metaphysical store I shop at called World od Wisdom. It was well worth the cost.
There is too much to explain on one page about Tarot cards, they can be so easily misread if you don't know what your doing. It's a great for fortune telling and I use it often.
I will give some information here on what is improtant in Tarot readings. For instance, The Death card can mean different things when influencing cards are surrounded. It doesn't necessarily mean a death is coming unless something else is laid out to imply that. The Empress symbolizes fertility/pregnancy, but in different ways. If it was laid out with a certain card, like a Pentacle suit for instance, it can very well mean a new beginning in a business.
The Magician is the first of importance in the Major Arcana suits. He symbolizes power from above for use on earth. The Major Arcana are made up of 22 cards. The Fool being 0 and ending with The World being 21. They all have a very unique meaning. To me, The Major Arcana take on it's own religion in it's own way.
The Minor Arcana are made up of 4 suits, Pentacle, Cups, Wands, and Swords...all suits having different influences. Tarot cards also have alot to do with astrology. Each suit representing certain aspects of the zodiac and an element.
Pentacles is a physical suit. It's an Earth suit and rules Business and Finance. Cups is an emotional suit. It's a water suit and rules emotions and feelings. Wands is a fire suit. It's a spiritual suit and rules growth and enterprise. Swaords is a mental suit. It's an air suit and rules struggles and strife.
There's so many different ways of doing readings, the most popular being the Celtic layout. It's gives the querent details into the past, recent past, future, self and final outcomes on the question. There's also a coming year layout I particularly like that I was taught by my instructor in my Tarot class.
Numerology plays a big meaning in Tarot also. Each number represents something..which enriches the cards meanings. Certain flowers and colors used in the cards also have meaning. If your interested in doing Tarot, I suggest a class offered by your local store. If you chose to teach yourself, chose your reading wisely. You don't want to run into the problems that I did. It will only confuse you more.
