Chapter 17: More Letters

Bruttney was up at 10 o'clock. She walked down stairs into a new morning. She opened the fridge door and grabbed the orange juice. She finally decided on a bagel, after opening every door in the kitchen there was.

"Hey hon." Karen greated her coming out of the landry room. "What are you up to today?"

"I don't exactly know, yet..." Brittney answered.

"You can have some friends over if you want." Karen suggested. "It's so great that you've adjusted so well."

"Yeah."

"Oh I checked the mail today, there were some letters for you."

"Where are they?" Bruttney asked jumping up with excitment.

"There on the table in the den."

Forgetting about the rest of her breakfast, Brittney ran to get the letters. There was 2. One she figured was from Robin, and the other had nothing on the envolope except for her name. She was curious who that letter was from so she opened it first.

It was a miss you card from tay. It had "I'll miss you" writen at least one hundred times on the page. Also there was a picture attached of the time they got there picture taken at the photo booth in the mall. He had drawn a red heart around it, and underneath it said "Your always in my heart."

A tear fell down Brittney's cheek. She relized he was probably on a plane right now, somewhere between there and New York.

And Brittney was right, the other letter was from her friend Robin. She was saying how much she missed Brittney. But she always had a way to make her laugh. She said how Shawn (a cute friend of her's, but an idooit) and mark (another friend, but a jerk) got in a fod fight in the cafiteria and hit Mrs.Hunter with a handful of fries. She said they'll probably have detention for quite awhile. Brittney couldn't help but laugh. Shawn and mark were in her class last year and flirted with her all year long like dogs. But they could be pretty nice, when they acted sensable, which was hardly ever.

She missed the gang back home more than ever now that Tay had left. She just seemed to be alone. She decided she needed to get out of the house. So, after telling her aunt and putting on her coat and shoes, she walked out into the morning sun.

Brittney kicked rocks up the street in frusteration that tay wasn't with her. You know, he turned out to be so nice when you got to know him. And his whole family were so sweet in excepting her. She walked as she looked at the sky. There waas a plane whicg caught her attention quickly. But soon she relized tay would be hundereds of miles away from her but now. But still, seeing that plane gave her some sort of satisfaction..

She turned into Daley's. She figured maybe the new seventeen would be out by now. Brittney opened the door to heear the bells chime above her head. She walked over to the magazine section only to find 2 girls looking excitedly at the new issue of Bop.

"Have you seen taylor lately? Oh my gosh! Can you belive he lives right around here, but you can't get near the house. I just don't understand the whole situation. I mean, I've gone to their concerts since they were little."

brittney couldn't help but smile. Maybe if they treated them as humans and not objects, she could have become friends with them by now. Anyway, turning her mind back to the latest seventeen, she decided to buy it.

After paying for it, she walked over to the park. As usual in the morning, the park was empty. Brittney sat down on one of the swings and began to reas. All the stuff about your perfect prom night waaas deprressing, knowing that if she would be back in New York by the time she graduated. But while flipping through she noticed Hanson's milk ad. tay looked so cute with that milk on his lip. Brittney read the as and relized that it waas right. Xac wasn't little, he was almost as tall as she was, if not taller, and he was definatly growing up.

She didn't relize that she had been staring at the page for quite sometime until someone taped her on the back. She swung around to see josh, looking as good as ever, staring at her.
