Zac came to every one of Leah's games. Always early to kiss her good
luck. One day though, he didnít show. 'Hey Leah, maybe he's
just late.' Amy told her.
'No, Zac never
comes late, he always gives a kiss for goodluck.'
'Well no good
luck kiss this time sweetie.' She heard Coach Karus say as she walked up
beind her. 'You're in the first line up today.'
'Wonderful.'
Leah said sarcastically. But not loud enough for the coach to hear.
Leah kept looking for Zac in the stands, she didn't see him. That
day she played horribly because she was worried about Zac.
After the
game, some of the players on her team came up to her. 'Leah, you ruined
it for us!' Amy rudely yelled as she picked her bag up and walked past
her out the gym doors. 'You were our best player!' Julianna said.
'You lost
it for us Leah! How could you!?' Megan shouted at her.
Leah could
feel the tears, and the anger, building inside. She turned
and picked up her bag to walk home. Coach Karus grabbed her shoulder. 'Hey!
Parker!'
Leah spun
around. 'I've got a name. It's Leah, not Parker!'
'Parker,
remember, this is a select team!' She scolded her. 'Only the best
can be on this team! You better shape up before next weeks game! I mean
it! You--'
Leah was sick
of everyone putting her down. 'I don't have to take your shit!' She
said as she felt the tears coming, she ran out of the gym, all the way
home.
'Honey!? What's wrong!?' Her mother called as Leah walked in the front
door, sobbing madly.
'Nothing!
Go away amd LEAVE ME ALONE!' She screamed as she ran up the stairs to her
bedroom. She slammed the door and locked it, she dropped onto her
bed.
