The faint smell of coffee came from a nearby
'Second Cup' stop. She paced around nervously
and finally decided to sit in the waiting area.
Her eyes wandered around, capturing the
setting around her.
A mother dragged her wailing child across,
a pained expression on her face.
Behind her bench a teenage couple were
having a farewell discussion.
"Can I come visit you when you get your new
apartment?" she questioned hopefully.
"It wont be for awhile," he replied uncomfortably.
she asked softly.
"Only as long as it takes." He coughed loudly. "You
know, my plane's bound to leave pretty soon.
wasn't getting the clue. Boy, she'll be in
for a surprise.

She tuned them out and gazed out the huge 10 storey
windows at the bird-like machines. The planes soared
through the skies grazing it with white smoke.
Her eyes lingered toward the arriving planes. A
longing that he'll be stepping off one of them.
How she longed for him to be with her.
The sun settled further into the sky and her hopes
deepened by the hour. She sent a deep wish up, a
chance that he'll sense it.
