Right from the start of the day, I knew something amazing was going to happen that night. It was going to be my first concert ever, and I was going to see my favorite band. My best friend Kathy and my father were the two people I was attending this wonderful experience with. Our seats were good to begin with. Row P seats 15, 16, and 17. And at Massey Hall, those are amazing seats. Me and Kathy talked for about 20 minutes before the opening band took to the stage. Cool For August came out with a few loud cheers and a lot of applause. The lead singer, was not on stage however...at first me and Kathy had no idea where he was, until my father poked me in the shoulder and said: "None of the singing is coming from on the stage you know...the singer is over there!" Through the Cool For August performance a few strange things took place on the stage, the lead singer seemed to be enjoying himself too much! It was funny, me and Kathy got a kick out of it as well. During the performance of Trials, Rob came out and joined him. This seemed to make Rob appear extremly short.
Then when Cool For August left the stage me and Kathy decided it was best for her to switch seats with my dad before Matchbox20 came out. Me and Kathy had a little idea, my friend Michelle had given me a toy mouse that looked like a toy bear, but anyways, and I had 4 copies of a couple drawing's I've done of Adam. So on the back of one copy of one of the drawings me and Kathy wrote all these messages for Adam, explaining who I was. All three of us went up to the stage and I pushed the "mouse" with a note in it's little bow tie onto the stage infront of Rob's mike. Then I walked over with the drawing and messages and pushed it up as close as I could to Adam's mike/spot. Then we went back and Kathy pointed out something to me. "Isn't that Linz?" She asked me. I said that I didn't know cause I never saw her from a front view. So we asked my dad to call her and ask...which he didn't...Kathy ended up asking, and she still hasn't let me go by 10 minutes without saying "I told you it was Linz!!!!" So as it turned out me and Kathy say beside Linz for the rest of the concert, she is actually quite a friendly person, I handed her 2 more drawings of Adam and said they were for Adam. She and her friend said they liked them. She handed me and Kathy a large 20lbs book of photo's of the boys. And stuff they've signed for her.
As we sat waiting for Matchbox20 to take the stage, Linz told us that she had drove 12 hours to get there, and explained to us the songs that they play during intermission are always the same, and that they would be onstage shortly. Well she was right, they came on opening with Busted. At that time Linz was standing up and telling me and Kathy to stand up. So we stood up...lets just say I felt way to tall, especially since the people on either side of my were height impared. Hmm strange...so were the peeps infront of us...Anyways. After standing for about two minutes the usher came and told us to sit down. Ugh damn ushers!!!!! But by Girl Like That everyone was standing. So the ushers just left it. The concert was amazing, My personal favorite part was the times when Adam went into a spinning frenzy and twirled around in a circle. Kathy, being a suck up, said her favorite part was when Matchbox20 came on, and from then on. Another funny part was when the lead singer for Cool For August came out with just a towel on, and a guitarist came out in...ugh...briefs. Rob started laughing and swearing. Kathy remembers the words Tob said "Oh my God!!! There's fucking naked people on the stage!" Me and Linz kept joking around that my father wouldn't approve of Rob's cursing ever few minutes. After the show I parted from Linz and went and bought two t-shirts and a baseball cap... I bought the Stole My Baby tour T-shirt w/ the tour dates on the back. and the Matchbox20 Yourself or Someone Like You t-shirt w/ the cover photo on the front. Then the best and most annoying part came...waiting for the boys to come out to sign stuff. After about an hour and a ½ Linz came out and said she hadn't gotten Adam to sign anything for me yet, but that she'd shown him the drawings I'd drawn of him, and that he loved them. Then back in she darted (at least I think so!!) Then about two minutes later, my idol, the one and only Adam Gaynor came out! When I saw him my friend Kathy poked me and said "It's Adam!!!!!" my reaction was "YES...damnit I see that!!!" and so I yelled to him. Unfortunetly, at that time I was behind a group of tall people, and Adam couldn't see, or hear me clearly. So low and behold...my dad shoved me over to where the short people were. So I yelled to him once more, this time he turned to me and said "Uhh, Yeah?" and I said in as loud of a voice as my soar throat could manage "It's me...Otie...from the chat!" and although his reaction was slightly delayed, it was still extremly amazing to know he actually remembered me. "Ohhhhhh.......OOOOAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!" he yelled as he threw his head back...I took advantage of that cute scene and snapped a pic of him...although I think it slightly blinded him!!! He came over and asked me...over and over again I might add..."What's happening Oats?" and "Is everything ok with you Oats?" Then after I kept repeating "Uhh...nothing...Uhh...yeah..." over and over to him as well he said "C'mere" and pulled me into a big hug...now he bent down quite a bit for me...but I still had to stand on the tips of my toes to actually hug him. Before me and him had fully pulled apart and I was just looking at him and he still had his arms around me slightly I said in a joking voice "Damn, you are so tall!!!" and he smiled and responded "Who, me? Nah, I'm small!!" Then Kathy slammed the stories that are up on the page (Adventures of Adam Gaynor:Lost in the Jurassic Period/A Birthday Party for Ots/and The Chatroom Kids in Hawaii) into Adam's chest and said "Here, she wrote these!!" Basically the only words Kathy really said to Adam at all!!! I asked him if he'd mind if me and Kathy took a few pics of him and he said "Let me just put this stuff on the bus, I promise I'll be right back out" and then for some reason he had to add "I know you might think I wont come back, but I promise you I will!!"
Kathy looked at me and said after ADam had jumped into the bus "He's not going to come back is he?" so in a silly way which is almost the way I seem on the net and not in reality I said "Well, if he doesn't...he know's I'll throw cyber mentos at him!!!"
The girls standing beside us had doubted me when I'd said I knew Adam from the chat, and by this time they were standing there saying "Oh my God...that is sooooo cool!!! He hugged you!!! You are so lucky!!!" and I just smiled and said, "Yeah, it's wick!"
Then my father came over and took my hat off and everyone stared at my hair...ugh...flat and messy...I quickly brushed it into place and laughed. Adam had just come out of the bus and Kathy had jumped and said "He's actually kept his promise!!!!"
Adam went down the crowd signing autographs and having pictures taken. I smiled and watched him, this man is the perfect idol, he actually take time to see his fans...and I know for a fact...this can make a difference in their life. For me, just being able to say that Adam's an online buddy of mine has made my life a lot better. I now know that if a buddy of mine can make it in the horrid world of entertainment, where so few do...then I can also make it. His caring towards his fans has changed a few peoples ideas on their life. Including myself, and I respect him highly for it.
When Adam came back closer to me and Kathy, I smiled again and accidentally shouted (I'd meant to say it quietly enough so Adam wouldn't hear but...) "Damn, Emps was right, Adam does look a lot hotter in real life then in pics!!! And he's a great hugger too!!!" Kathy turned to me and poked me and hissed "You're too loud, he right there, he can hear you!!" And I looked at him and he smiled, so I'm betting he heard it!!!
He asked me once again "What's happening Oats?" but unfortunetly, i didn't hear him and had to say "Sorry, I'm like deaf right now, and I can't hear anything you just said, sorry!!" and he repeated it, loud enough for me to hear it...very kind of him...seeing as he'd only asked me 7 times already!!! Then he came back and hugged me again. My father asked him what he thought of the pictures I'd drawn to which Adam replyed "They're fantastic, I love them!!" I then said to him that if he ever wanted another pic or an origenal of those pics to call me anytime he wants...(I doubt he will, but I mean hell...I was willing to give anything a shot...it was almost 1AM...I was half asleep!!) But he smiled and nodded...I'm pretty sure he still had an arms around me...I was busy winding up the camera...so then I told my dad to go take a picture for us and Adam squeezed me closer to him and I almost choked (j/k...but it was pretty tight!!) and I pulled Kathy closer to me so she'd actually be in the pic!! Then after that Adam signed a picture for me
and it read:

With Kathy he just wrote ADAM on it...Then he said "One second, I have something for you! Just lemme get it out of here" (here being his pocket) So I watched his pocket as he was fiddling around inside trying to get something out...Then he pulled his hand out and smiled..."Here you go!" he said and handed me his guitar pick...I smiled and said thank you very much to him...then I smiled and said..."One other thing Adam, remember how I told you I'd try and set you up with my kindergarten teacher?" and he replyed "Yes", then I smiled and laughed "Well, she said yes!!!" He laughed and said "Sweetheart, you didn't have to, but thanks!" And I just laughed and said "It's no problem, really Adam." truth is...I've been trying to set that teacher up since I was 5!!! and I'm almost 15 now!!! So...plus she's always dated assholes and I figure Adam is the guy who would break that patern! Then Adam slightly squeezed me again (my poor shoulders still hurt...I should have told him to watch out for my shoulders...rotator cuff tendonopathy can really hurt[ps if ya wanna know what rotator cuff tendonopathy is e-mail me at Oaters@hotmail.com] ) And I said "Love ya Adam, bye! I'll miss you!" and he smiled at me again (damn I'm getting lots of smiles huh?!?!)
Shortly after that everyone had left. There were a man and a woman standing there talking wth my father. The man said to us that Adam had been sent out as a ploy for the other members to sneak around the back onto a van...I will probably never know if that was the truth but I am just as happy...I wanted to see Adam, I love the other guys, but I don't respect them as much as I do Adam. And I got my wish. I met my idol...Adam Gaynor.
a few silly things happened...my grandfather's girlfriend's grandaughter Molly was there...when she tried to discribe what my father was in relation to her for her friends it made quite a silly story..."This is my Grandmother's boyfriend's wife's husband".......uhh did she just say her grandmother's boyfriend was married to my mother and my father? wow...strange!!! that would make my mom a very sluty person!!!! Sleeping with her own father.....sheeesh!!! lol...I also told Adam "You know Laura, well she says you're her Pappy!" and his response was "Oh Man, that girl is out of control!!!"
Well hoped you all enjoyed my review...I hope to write up one again for mb20 shortly!! just gotta get them back up to Toronto!!!!
