!!!ATTENTION!!! Sorry, but the mp3 songs are not up yet because they take longer to upload, but the preview files are mostly there...
Noise Corner
In the NOISE CORNER you can download all kinds of songs in full-length for free in Mp3. This section is after all meant to be a place for the endless 'improvisation orgies' that we sometimes have, but you can also find special versions of Carefree or non-Carefree songs and also some live stuff... The songs in this section are not always performed by the whole band, but mostly only by two or three members and sometimes even only by one bandmember. They are not necessarily punk, the styles go into many different directions. By clicking on the 'Check It Out!' button, you can listen to a short wave sample of minor quality. (Sorry for the wave format, I know RealAudio is cool, but very (a lot too much) expensive...) The duration, Mp3 size and quality of the song are always indicated at the end of the description. Enjoy!
The noisy/experimental Noise Corner...
"Violence"
was mixed on September 19 1999 and consists of a (depressing?)
tune played on an acoustic guitar and an excerpt from a speech by
Albert Einstein. The guitar we used is a cheap Hohner HC-o6 that
Jeff won at a game stall (Michel has got the same guitar, too),
and the chords were completely out of tune, so that eventually
the sound is very depressing and strange all together. It should
have a bit the same effect as the Brecht operas, which have a
strange, uncomfortable sound to keep the audience awake and
thinking. The lyrics of this song are not extraordinarily long,
nor are they very complicated, but these few words contain the
recipe for a better world born out of peace and solidarity. DURATION:
2:22; SIZE: 976 Kb, 56 kbps/44 kHz.
"Now
sports" was recorded a few days after our show
in July '99, right in the middle of Michel's house's
"entrance hall". We use a megaphone at the beginning
and somewhere in the middle part of the song. The intro is taken
from the end of a song by another band. We were searching for a
tape to record the song and we found a tape with lots of crappy
techno stuff on it. The only good song on the tape was the first
one, so we decided not to erase that song, and that's how the end
of that song ended up on 'Now Sports'...
That's also where the name of the song comes from... We have no
bass over here because Robi was at work at that moment. The
song's about 5 minutes long... DURATION: 5:20; SIZE:
5.005 Mb, 128 kbps/44kHz.
Special versions of all kinds of songs...
"I
Was Made Lovin' For You". This is our version
of the famous Kiss song... Let's skank :):):) DURATION:
2:34; SIZE: 2.421 Mb, 128 kbps/44kHz.
"D'Hémecht".
We had the idea to cover the national anthem of Luxembourg (our
home...) a few weeks before the celebrations of our Grand-Duc's
birthday. So Mich and I sat together and tried to make it into a
good song. We recorded two versions of the song on the Saturday
before the big day. This one's the better one of the two. Maybe
you've already heard it, cause we actually played it live during
quite some time in the middle of our beautiful capital city. You
can read more about that in the stories' section... Ah, yes, this
song's an acoustic song, it sounds a bit like the acoustic Blur
songs. My uncle doesn't like it a lot cause it's so slow, but I
think it's cool anyway... DURATION: 2:38; SIZE:
2.471 Mb, 128 kbps/44kHz.
"Territorial
Pissings". It's a cover of Nirvana's 7th song
on the NEVERMIND album. It's quite similar to the original,
except that we don't sing that other tune at the beginning and
therefor scream a bit longer at the end. It's only Mike and me
playing, sorry about that... The solo is quite cool, too. You can
hear a bit of it in the little sample by clicking on the 'Check
It Out' button... And: This song my uncle likes better. I think
the screaming pleases him... DURATION: 3:39; SIZE:
3.437 Mb, 128 kbps/44kHz.
"Mrs.
Robinson". This is a low budget cover that I
(Jeff) recorded in my room. I didn't manage to play the song very
good, so I decided to play it very, very bad. And at the end I
tried to play another song by some famous punkband. I think they
call themselves No äff ix or something like that. I don't know
them a lot, but my German friend Christian B. from W. told me
about their name... The main song's by Simon and Garfunkel.
Please play this song on the radio!! DURATION: 1:31; SIZE:
1.434 Mb, 128 kbps/44kHz.
"Echt".
A very bad cover of a song by a German band of about our age:
Echt. This song deserved a Carefree cover, the only problem was
that we need all of our time to arrange our own songs, so we
can't concentrate too much on covers at the moment. That's why I
(Jeff) (with the agreement of my bandmates of course:)) sat down
one boring afternoon and mixed the voices, the effects and the
guitars to get this song. You're gonna hate it or love it :) It
was fun to record it, at least. DURATION: 3:37; SIZE:
3.405 Mb, 128 kbps/44kHz.
LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Buhmann".
"Buhmann" is a more recent
song and we opened our two-men-show on July 9th 1999 at the
Chalet, Ischpelt, with this song. The lyrics are in German and
it's supposed to be a song about hard drugs. We fucked up at the
end, though, cause we forgot the second bridge and immediately
went to the end after the third verse. It has a live sound and it
was recorded with a huge tape recorder. DURATION:
3:47; SIZE: 3.553 Mb, 128 kbps/44 kHz.
"Should
I Stay Or Should I Go". This is cover of a
song by The Clash. We kept fucking up, but it's cool anyway. This
song was recorded at our two-men-show in July, too... DURATION:
4:08; SIZE: 3.878 Mb, 128 kbps/44 kHz.
"Come
Join The Army". "Come Join
The Army" was our second song ever. This is
the final version of the song, recorded at our show at the
'Junkerhaus', Cents, on Decembre 18th 1999. We had Claus
with us playing a keyboard tune in the background, but I don't
think you can hear it very well on the record... DURATION:
3:39; SIZE: 3.434 Mb, 128 kbps/44 kHz.
