JUNE 98
Red Sector 1 has mailed their very first newsletter on June 10, 1998, and the band has announced a few things that are happening. They have a record deal with Flaming Fish Music and their new album will be released on that label later this year. RS1 is also working on a video for a song called Hollywood Glamour Queen. The video should also be completed by September 98. I asked Drew and Mike what the feel of the video was. Drew told me he once knew a woman who was set on making it in Hollywood. "She wanted that more than anything", he said. "She had some success, but the whole thing really messed her up. It is more of a shot at Hollywood really". I also asked the band about their decision to sign with Flaming Fish. Mike said, "Both the band and the label are Christian, so it just felt natural". A song list should be available in the upcoming weeks.
AUGUST 98
New stuff going on. Red Sector 1 is now awaiting remixes from The Echoing Green and Cult Of Jester. The cd is so close to being completed. RS1 is also to appear on the new N*Soul compilation called "Electrapop" which will also feature other Christian SynthWave bands. Definately one to grab.
SEPTEMBER 98:
The new N*Soul compilation has been released with a great new song from the new album called Consequences. Some other bands included on the compilation: Pivot Clowj, Painted Orange, Color Theory, and The Echoing Green. It is available at http//:nsoul.com/
OCTOBER 98:
Control-Alt-Delete has selected RS1 to be on their upcoming compilation entitled, "Control-Alt-Delete, Y2K Compliant". It features a Red Sector One song remixed by label mate Pivot Clowj called Be Free. The compilation will be out mid-November. More details to follow!
