The Swamp Thing Fanclub and Revival Movement are dedicated to our friend Fran White.

UPDATES!

12.11.00: The US Sci Fi Channel is going to be showing another Swamp Thing mini-marathon tomorrow: DECEMBER 12th - 11am TO 4PM
What episodes are they showing? Check the schedule.

10.15.00: iCAST is broadcasting Annihilator (1986), a failed TV pilot that Mark Lindsay Chapman starred in. It's cheesy fun. I have no idea how to view the movie, though; I think it involves downloading the iCAST media player.

FYI: The links section has been updated. :)

10.15.00: Steven L. Sears' new show Sheena features Kevin Quigley in a regular supporting role as Mendehlsohn. Babs Greyhosky is one of the producers, and Boris Malden is the line producer. The show is syndicated, so check your local listings.

10.12.00: The UK Sci Fi Channel has moved Swamp Thing to Tuesdays and Thursdays. They're still showing two episodes, back-to-back, once at 10:00 (not sure of the time zone here; can any UK fans help me out?) and repeated at 17:00. Check out which episodes are being played below. Lucky Brits.

Now would be a good time for US fans to write, call, and email the US Sci Fi Channel to beg them to rerun the series regularly (and an uncut first runthrough would be very nice...). See, now we can tell them, "But the UK is doing it!" <g>

Old newsletters that you may (or may not) have read are archived here.

This fanclub has been created in an effort both to bring the fans together for some fun and to help bring our show back. Interested in revival? This page itself has been created to pool together resources and links to all the stuff you, the Swampy fan, might be interested in. :)

The Swamp Thing Fanclub is by and for us, which means we need input from everybody. If anyone has any info on projects the former cast, crew, writers and directors are doing, newsflashes or have seen any articles or new websites pop up about Swampy, feel free to email us. Thanks - it's greatly appreciated.

SURVEY

Okay, sure, you want to see new episodes of Swamp Thing. But you want those episodes to be GOOD, right? Take Fran's survey to tell the world what YOU loved and hated, so The Powers That Be can see. Some of the results just might surprise you. :)

Want to talk about the show?

There is a mailing list dedicated to chatting about Swamp Thing and its actors, and we need traffic! To subscribe, you can A) Email swampthing-subscribe@egroups.com
Or
B) Go to http://www.egroups.com/group/swampthing/ and click "Subscribe", in the little lavender box, under the "Join Now!" heading.

Don't be shy, none of us will bite. <g>

There is also a newsgroup: alt.tv.swamp-thing
Don't be afraid to post... it's been pretty quiet and spammy recently. We need discussion! Everyone tends to be very tolerant and respectful of everyone else's viewpoints, so don't be afraid to jump in. :)

Places where you can find
FANFICTION

Arcane Knowledge's fanfic section. Lotsa reading material here. The very first site to house Swampfic. The Swamp Thing Fanfiction Archive: Any and all fanfic that JJ can get her grubby little hands on. If it's based on the Swamp Thing TV show, it's archived here.

As there's so little Swampy fanfic on the web, the content of both those sites naturally overlap.

Want to write something yourself?
There are three round robin fanfic stories going on at the moment, and anyone's welcome to join:

FAN ART

Any budding artists out there? If you have Swampy fan art you scanned, and you'd like to see it up here, email us. Come on -- if you don't, we might be forced to put up JJ's drawings of Arcane and Graham on the Titanic, and I don't think anyone really needs to be subjected to that...

MUSIC

Is there music that reminds you of the series? Here's
some entries we've gotten so far...

  • Born On The Bayou - Creedence Clearwater Revival
  • Some Kind Of Voodoo - Aerosmith
  • Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears (for Arcane, Sunderland... Graham?)
  • Cold Ethyl - Alice Cooper (for Arcane's popsicle wife)
  • (It's Not Easy) Bein' Green - Kermit the Frog
  • My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion
Maintainer JJ wonders about this one...
  • Normal Town [Remix] - Better Than Ezra

LINKS pertaining to all things Swampy

Arcane Knowledge: A fantastic site with cast and crew bios, tons of pictures, links, an episode guide with separate detailed, illustrated summaries for some of the episodes, an overview history of the series, a copy of the 2nd season bible, the FAQ... what more could you ask?!

CultTVMan's Swamp Thing Page: Very nicely laid out page, with information on the first two movies, the cast of the series (with great pictures), the cartoon, and the toys! Yes, my friends, the toys! Also an episode guide to the series (somewhat incomplete).

All Things Graham: Formerly known as The Grahamzone. Cute page dedicated to (who else?) Graham + Kevin Quigley. It's got pictures, quotes, fanfiction, sounds, and links. Some materials within may not be suited for minors.

The Swamp Thing TV Series Fanfic Archive: Fanfic, fanfic, fanfic. Everything JJ can get her grubby little hands on. No discrimination based on content -- if it's Swampy and she got her paws on it (with permission), it's here. Some materials within may not be suitable for minors.

Like A Something - The Arcane/Graham Subtext Page: With a picture gallery, fanfiction, artwork, quotes, song lyrics, the subtext FAQ, and links. Some materials within may not be suitable for minors.

Tiff's Swamp Thing Page: Fanfiction, screen captures, and a picture of Dick Durock without the makeup!

TrekSwamp: Maintainer JJ's weirdo homepage. Full of art, fanfic, and other bizarrities. The Swampy page has screen captures, sound clips, and artwork. Some materials within may not be suitable for minors.

Ker's Page: The talented Ker's got slashfic in all kinds of fandoms, including Swamp Thing. Some materials within may not be suitable for minors.

Homage To Alec Holland: A short fanfiction piece by J. Juno with a lovely illustration.

The Bog - A Swamp Thing Web Page: Just what it says. <g> Focused presently on the comics, and under construction, but planning to add material on the tv series in the future.

A Someone Strange And Personal Page To Anton Arcane

The Swamp Thing Drinking Game: Created on the ST mailing list. Fun, fun, fun... and if you don't like alcohol, feel free to grab the beverage of your choice.

Fun! It's the page of Themed Enviroment & Effects, the people who created the worm that (temporarily) killed Dr. Arcane. You can actually see a picture of the little guy, all cleaned up, here.

And You Thought It Was Safe... has a page on why s/he is fond of the Swamp Thing movie.

This page on TV cop shows has a section towards the bottom on Joseph Stefano and Fritz Kiersch, and talks about the Swamp Thing pilot episode. (Funny, this is NO way jibes with how I viewed "The Emerald Heart"...)

Zealot.com has a short bit on Swampy, barely touching on the TV show and movies. I like the last two lines. <g>

The Green: Devoted to the Swamp Thing comic book, with message boards, a chat room, and more.

While this isn't exactly related to the show, Sheena has a lot of Swamp Thing alumn working on it.

The Swamp Thing Fan Club does NOT give out personal information pertaining to the former cast, crew, creative team, etc. That means phone numbers, addresses, favorite type of shampoo (well, we might let that slide). And chances are, if you're looking for that kind of information from us, we won't have it! Why do you think we keep pleading for those people to email us? :)

We've gotta give special thanks to the wonderful, sweet Fran White; pretty much ALL of our traffic comes from her Arcane Knowledge page. Without it, no one would know we exist. THANK YOU, Fran!
