Bo slowly woke up, and sat up. His head was dully throbbing, he tried to focus but his vision was blurry. He wondered where he was he couldn't see nothing, pitch blackness surrounded him. He leaned against the wall behind him. Bo rubbed the back of his neck, and closed his eyes. Bo heard a door open, and turned towards where the sound had came from.
"Well you finally woke up." someone said, and turned on the lights.
The person sound like Luke.
"Yeah, although I feel like I got hit by a truck." Bo said.
Bo opened his eyes, the bright lights momentarily blinding him. He noticed where he was, a small room with only the bed that he was sitting on, in it. He didn't turn to see who was in the room with him, because he assumed it was Luke as the person sounded just like him.
"Well you did take quite a blow to the head." Lukas said.
Bo sensed something different in Luke's voice, kind of a harshness, but he thought nothing of it. He assumed it was just because of what had happened and what was happening. Lukas walked over and stood in front of Bo. Lukas was dressed in all black except for a large blue skull on the middle of his shirt.
"Where are we?" Bo asked, as he brushed his bangs back out of his eyes with the back of his hand.
"You must have really took some blow to the head if you don't know where you are." Lukas said harshly.
"What . . . what are you talking about?" Bo asked leaning back against the wall once again, his head was still pounding.
Lukas scowled and shook his head. "You are at my base. Since you were trespassing in my territory. I had nothing to do with attempting to end your life. I want to know who did so I know who else dared to cross over into my territory." Lukas said taking a menacing step towards Bo.
Bo stared at Lukas confused about what he was talking about. "What are you talking about Luke?"
"Don't speak in such insolent tones. Use my proper name, Lukas. You know what I am talking about. Stop playing stupid." Lukas said angrily then smacked Bo across the face.
Bo sat there stunned at first, he realized that this was in fact not the Luke that he knew. Bo looked at Lukas and saw something harsh in his eyes.
"I really don't know what you are talking about. I think you have me mistaken for someone else. I guess that thing was a portal that was between our worlds, because this sure ain't the Hazzard that I know." Bo said.
"I think you really hit your head hard, because you are sounding quite crazy." Lukas said.
Lukas heard someone at the door of the cell.
"Sir." the solider said, standing at attention.
Lukas walked over to the soldier. "What do you want?"
"There was a report of a blue flash moments before he was found." Peter said, nodding slightly towards Bo.
"What is your point?" Lukas asked, as he stepped out of the cell closing the door shut behind himself.
"My point sir, is that he may indeed not be your cousin. At least not from this world. He may know some way to travel between worlds."
"You maybe right. That could explain why he don't seem the same. I thought it was because he was hurt, or faking it." Lukas said glancing through the small window on the door to the cell, then turned back to the solider.
"If he has some way to pass between worlds . . ." Peter started to say but his sentence was cut short by Lukas.
"It would be a great benefit. We could travel between worlds gain more technology and take over this world and then take over other worlds." Lukas said with an evil smile.
"All we have to do is get him to tell how to cross over to other worlds."Peter said.
"I am sure that I can get him to talk. After all he is still my cousin, only on a different world. Lukas said, he looked into the cell.
Bo had laid back down and fallen asleep again. The stress of everything that happened had taken its toll on him. His head was still pounding, where he had struck his head against the pavement when he had came through the portal.
"Do you think you can get him to talk? He may not be as stupid as your cousin."
Lukas turned around. "My cousin is not stupid, far from it." he glared at the solider and took a step towards him.
Peter looked frightened and took a couple steps back away from Lukas. "Um . . . no of course."
"He may be a little naive, but he is not stupid. I am sure I can get this version of my cousin to tell me what I want to know, without a problem."
"Are you sure? I mean you don't even really know anything about him."
"Do you dare to question me?" Lukas said, agitatedly, and walk up to be mere inches from the solider.
"Of course not sir. I just mean he may not be anything like your cousin and may decline to tell you anything."
"From what I could tell when talking to him, he seemed willing to talk. Lukas thought to himself. "There is nobody like my cousin."
The solider still looked unsure that the person in the cell would talk.
"I think though that we will wait. Let him sleep for a while, so then I can better gain his trust. After he awakens again I will start to question him on how he crossed worlds." Lukas then began to walk down the hallway. The solider followed close behind him.
"What if someone else finds out how to cross worlds?" Peter asked.
Lukas stopped walking. "How would they do that? Nobody else even knows about him."
"Yes but, what if your double also crossed into our world and someone else finds him."
Lukas thought about it for a moment. "Send out a patrol to search the area where you found him for anyone else who may have crossed over as well."
Luke walked blindly down the street, not knowing where he was or where he was going. His pale blue eyes were filled with worry about Bo. He wondered if he would ever see Bo again, or at least if he would find him alive. The sun was starting to set on the horizon. Luke stopped walking and leaned against one of the falling down buildings. He stood watching the sun set. A group of three men were walking down the street, when they saw Luke they approached him.
"Hold it right there. Don't move." Alex said.
Luke turned to look at who was there., but he said nothing to the three guys he saw standing beside him.
"A little bit out of your territory aren't you. You think that you would not be recognized just because you are not wearing your fatigues." Derik said.
"Why are you out so late, especially with none of your flunkies?" Frank asked.
"What are you talking about?" Luke asked.
"What are you up to this time? You are way out of your territory. It is almost dark, it is not really safe to be out on the streets, you can come back to our base." Alex said.
"Look, I really don't know what you are talking about." Luke said.
Derik had walked over and was standing next to Luke, in one quick movement he took out a needle and injected it into Luke's shoulder. Before Luke had anytime to react darkness invaded his mind and he drifted in unconsciousness. Derik picked Luke up, holding him across his shoulders.
"We had better get back quick it is almost dark." Alex said.
"I don't see why we just don't leave him. He would never save anyone else. I mean he is basically one of the enemy." Frank said.
"Yeah that may be so but it is Beauregard's cousin, you know how he feels about him. If we left Lukas out here to die Beauregard would be very upset." Derik said.
"Not only that Lukas here don't seem to remember anything. He may just be faking or he could be hurt." Alex said.
"Yeah, I guess that's true." Frank said.
After they arrived at the base they took Luke to the hospital that was set up there, and went to tell Beauregard about finding him.
"Where did you find him?" Beauregard asked.
"Outside the old five and ten store." Alex said.
"And he acted like he knew nothing?" Beauregard questioned.
"Yeah, he was acting all upset and saying he didn't know about what we were talking about." Alex said.
Beauregard went and sat next to Luke's bed, waiting for the tranquiller to wear off. A few minutes later Luke started to wake up.
"I want to be alone with my cousin." Beauregard said motioning for the others to leave.
"Are you sure that you trust him?" Frank asked.
     "Yes, I trust him."
Frank then left the room.
Luke slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes.
"Are you okay?" Beauregard asked getting up from the chair and standing by the bed.
"Yeah I think so. Where am I?" Luke asked.
"You're safe." Beauregard said. "What were you doing outside your territory?"
Luke looked at Beauregard, he sounded like Bo and he thought he looked like Bo, except there was something different about him. His hair was longer, his eyes looked reflected the hard life that he lead.
"I don't know what you are talking about. I think you have me confused with someone else. Where is this place?" Luke asked.
"I don't have you confused with anyone, you are my cousin Lukas Duke. You know that this Hazzard, well what is left of it anyway." Beauregard said.
"Yeah that is my name, but I usually go by Luke. This ain't Hazzard." Luke said. "Who are you?" Luke asked even though he didn't want to here the answer.
     "I am Beauregard, your cousin."
"My cousin has never gone by his full name." Luke said trying to stand up but his head hurt when he did so he remained sitting.
"What are you trying to pull now?" Beauregard asked.
"Nothing I'm telling you the truth. Last thing I remember is going through some blue portal and ending up here." Luke said.
Beauregard just stood staring at Luke for a moment. He realized that Luke was not his cousin, he could see worry and caring in Luke's eyes and not the cold bitterness that filled Lukas's eyes.  "You are not lying you really are not my cousin." Beauregard said.
"At least not on this world. I think somehow that I crossed worlds, because this sure ain't the Hazzard I know. Luke said.
"Do you know how it happened?" Beauregard asked.
"No not really. Me and Bo was out at Rainbow Mines and there was this blue glow and we went to see what it was then . . .    "Luke stopped in mid-sentence, and bit back the tears that he felt swelling up in his eyes.
     "What's wrong?" Beauregard asked.
"I have not seen Bo since coming through and I am worried about him. I have got to go out and try to find him." Luke said, as he started to get up from the bed.
"It's dark out there now and it's not safe." Beauregard said.
"Then I really gotta get out there and find him." Luke said as he walked towards the door.
Beauregard walked over and stood in front of Luke. "It would do no good to go up there. You'd never find him. Your best bet is to stay down here for the night where it is safe. Then in the morning I'll help you look for your cousin." Beauregard said, placing a hand on Luke's shoulder.
     "You'd do that?" Luke asked.
"Yeah. In a way we are cousins, just from different worlds. Don't worry about your cousin I am sure he'll be okay." Beauregard said and opened the door."I'll tell you about this world and you can tell me about your world."
"Yeah, okay." Luke said, then followed Beauregard out of the room.
They walked down a long hallway.
"What is this place any way?" Luke asked.
"It is a safe haven from the gang wars on the surface. We provide a safe haven for kids who have no family and don't want to be part of a gang and for families who have lost their homes." Beauregard said.
"What about your cousin?" Luke asked.
Beauregard stopped and got a pained looked on his face. "Well he didn't take quite a straight of path." he said then continued walking.
"You mean he joined a gang?" Luke asked.
"In a way I guess. He has his own gang, the Blue Skulls. He has his reasons for doing so. I'll tell you more about it once we get into a more private room." Beauregard said as they turned down another hallway.
Luke didn't say anything he just continued to follow Luke.
A couple minutes later they went into another room. It was a small room furnished with a couch, a table and four chairs. Beauregard sat down on one of the chairs and Luke sat on another facing Beauregard.
"Why don't you tell me about your world first." Beauregard said.
"There is not much to tell. There is no gangs in Hazzard, it is basically a quiet place. It has problems but nothing like this. Me and my cousin Bo is on probation for running moonshine. We were raised by our Uncle Jesse as was our cousin Daisy. Me and Bo's parents died when we were just babies. Uncle Jesse took both of us in and raised us as though we were his own children. The county commissioner and the sheriff are always trying to frame us into jail because we put an end to their schemes for making money, but when it comes down to it they are not really bad people. There has been wars, but there is none going on now." Luke said.
"Our worlds are extremely different then. Our family at one time ran moonshine, but Lukas and I never did. Our cousin Daisy was killed along with her parents in a car accident when she was five." Beauregard said then took a deep breath before continuing. "Our Uncle Jesse raised both of us, however he was not a kind person such as you describe your Uncle as being. He was very abusive to both of us. I guess he just hit Lukas one too many times and sent Lukas over the deep end. My cousin is not really an evil person, he does have a good heart, I think that he has just forgot how to care. There was a big war and the government was over run by gangs. The gangs took control and they run everything. Each gang controls a territory. Nobody can escape walls have been built around the states to keeps everyone in and other out. Any planes that try to fly over are shot out of the sky. There are also creatures that mainly come out at night. They are said to be the result of experiments that were done to humans when the government still had power. So all those that don't want to fight have to hide here underground." Beauregard said, he felt tears burning his eyes but held them back.
Luke wasn't really sure what to say. "Where is your uncle now?"
"My cousin killed him a few years ago . . ." Beauregard said his voice trailing off and his eyes becoming lost in thought.
     "Oh." Luke said.
"Look we had better get some sleep so we'll be awake early tomorrow to find your cousin. There is a guest room it is the door on the left." Beauregard said, motioning to the hallway that was on the far side of the room.
Shortly before dawn Bo started to wake up, again. His head had stopped hurting. He sat up and looked around, thinking at first that everything had just been some bad dream. He quickly realized that it was not a dream and that everything had really happened. Bo sighed and leaned against the wall. He heard the door open and turned to see Lukas enter.
"How are you feeling today?" Lukas asked, standing just inside the room.
"Better then before." Bo said, giving a half hearted smile, then running his fingers through his hair.
"You don't sound to sure." Lukas said stepping further into the room.
"I am just worried about my cousin Luke. I mean I don't even know if he came through the portal to or not." Bo said.
"Well it is almost light, so we can go up and look for him after we get some food, how does that sound?" Lukas asked.
     "Sounds fine." Bo responded.
The two of them left the small room and walked down the dimly lit hallways into a small kitchen and got some food.
"So how does that portal work?" Lukas asked.
"I don't know. It was just there and then I was pulled through it." Bo responded.
"Really? So you don't know how to control it then?" Lukas questioned.
"I ain't got any idea how that portal works." Bo said.
The same soldier as before, Peter, appeared at the doorway. Lukas walked over to him.
"So he is not talking." Peter said with an almost smug smile.
"Don't get smug. By the time I'm done he will talk. First I am going to make him think that I am going to help him find his cousin. Then I'll force him to tell me how the portal works." Lukas said.
"And if he won't talk?" Peter said glancing over at Bo.
"Then I'll kill him. One way or another he will talk. He may refuse at first but before I am done he'll be begging to tell me how the portal works." Lukas said then walked back over to Bo. "So are you ready to go up there and find that cousin of your?"
"Let's do it to it." Bo said.
Bo followed Lukas through the narrow and dimly lit tunnels that led to the war torn streets of Hazzard. About five minutes later they reached the surface. Bo looked around at how different everything looked on this world. Even in the early morning light he could tell that everything was very different. There were many falling down buildings, some buildings were nothing but rubble. Some building looked burned and still others that looked like they had been hit by bombs. Bo looked around shocked at the condition of this Hazzard County, many of the buildings that still even partial stood were the same as in the Hazzard he knew. Bo was very worried about Luke, he actually hoped that Luke had not came through the portal.
"You'd better not fall too far behind. Even though this is my territory some still try to cross the boarders." Lukas said, glancing back at Bo.
"Yeah okay, I was just thinking about how different things look." Bo said, as he caught up with Lukas.
"There is really only a couple places he could've stayed without being seen by my soldiers that patrol at night, unless he went into a neighbouring territory." Lukas said.
"The closest would be the White Knights, since that light was almost right on the boarder. He could've crossed into there." Peter said.
"Well if he did he'd be safe enough there. We are almost there now." Lukas said.
"Who are the White Knights?" Bo asked.
"It's my cousin's territory. If your cousin is there he will be safe." Lukas said, then thought to himself. "He's safer there then you are here, since my cousin is such a do gooder."
Shortly after dawn Luke woke up. He laid awake for a moment wishing this was all a dream, knowing it wasn't. He was filled with worry about Bo being someone one this world, in possible danger or worse. Luke got out of bed and walked into the other room. Beauregard was already awake and was sitting in one of the chairs. There was a pot of coffee,  a mug,  milk,  and a bowl of oranges sitting on the table.
"Morning. How are you feeling?" Beauregard asked.
"About the same."Luke said as he poured himself a cup of coffee. He picked up and orange then went and sat down on one of the chairs.
"You're still worried about your cousin aren't you?" Beauregard asked.
"Yeah." Luke said, trying to hide the fear in his voice, that it he'd never see Bo again.
"We will do our best to help you find him." Beauregard said reassuringly, he could sense Luke's fear for his cousin's life.
Luke smiled, then drank his coffee.
"I was thinking that it would be best to go look were you crossed over at." Beauregard said.
"I don't really remember where that was. I was just walking around blindly really." Luke said.
"Maybe you will recognize something once we get up there. If not we will keep looking until we do find something." Beauregard said.
Luke finished the orange and the cup of coffee, then him and Beauregard left the room, and started to walk down the hallways. They reached a large door. Beauregard opened the door. After they both passed through Beauregard closed the door. The tunnel they were now in was a lot darker, then the hallways were.
"From here it is about ten minutes to the surface." Beauregard said.
"I just want you to know how obliged I am for your help. It really means a lot." Luke said as he followed Beauregard through the tunnel.
"Well don't go thanking me yet, we haven't found him." Beauregard said.
"Yeah but I am grateful that you are trying to help me find him."Luke said.
Beauregard stopped and turned and looked at Luke. "Well I kind of know how you feel, not knowing if someone you care about is alright."
Three figures were walking along the street then the came to a stop.
"This is right where we found him." Peter said.
"Are you sure about that?" Lukas asked walking over to Peter.
     "Yes sir." Peter responded.
"Well why don't we split up and look around." Lukas said, then he spoke quietly to Peter so that Bo wouldn't hear, "Go back to the base. I am going to get him to talk."
Peter nodded then walked off. Lukas walked over and stood by Bo.
"So what do you know about that portal?" Lukas asked.
     "Nothing." Bo replied.
"Don't you trust me enough to tell me how it works?" Lukas asked.
"Yeah I do trust you, I really don't know how it works." Bo said.
"I don't like being lied to." Lukas said, his voice growing in anger.
"Well I ain't lying to you." Bo said.
"I think you are. Now tell me how the portal works." Lukas said then smacked Bo across the jaw.
Bo was unprepared for the hit and stumbled back a couple paces. He rubbed his jaw. Lukas walked over and placed a hand on Bo's shoulder then punched him as hard as he could in the stomach. Bo dropped down to his knees and gasped to catch his breath.
"Tell me what you know. I know that you know how that portal works. TELL ME!" Lukas yelled demandingly at Bo.
"I don't know how it works." Bo said, still trying to catch his breath.
"Don't lie." Lukas said then kicked Bo in the ribs.
Bo flinched at the pain and clenched his ribs. Lukas went behind Bo and wrapped his left arm around Bo's neck and started to apply pressure. Bo struggled to try to get away, but couldn't break free from Lukas's grasp. Lukas placed his right head against the side of Bo's head.
"If you don't talk I'll snap your little neck." Lukas said threateningly.
"I don't know how it works." Bo said. His voice was filled with pain, he clenched his eyes shut from the pain.
Beauregard and Luke heard people talking and went to investigate. They saw Lukas holding Bo around the neck.
"Lukas, let him go." Beauregard said.
"Stay out of this." Lukas said glaring over at Beauregard.
Luke became extremely worried about Bo.
"Bo . ." Luke said starting to walk towards Bo.
Bo tried to look at Luke, even though he couldn't see him he knew it was Luke. "Luke . . ." Bo said, his voice extremely faint. It hurt to talk and he flinched at the pain. He could feel darkness trying to invade his mind and struggled to stay awake.
"Stay back, or I'll snap his neck." Lukas warned. "Tell me how the portal works or he is dead."
Luke took a step back fearing he would carry through with his threat to snap Bo's neck if he went any closer. "We don't know how it works. If we did we wouldn't be here."
"Lukas don't do this. Let him go." Beauregard said.
"Why should I? Once I learn how to go between worlds I can overthrow this one and all other worlds." Lukas said.
"You are no better then our uncle." Beauregard said.
"How DARE you compare me to him. I am nothing like him." Lukas said angrily. He tightened his grip on Bo's neck.
Bo couldn't breath, he could no longer fight off the darkness and he fell into unconsciousness.
"Oh really, then why are you trying to kill him?" Beauregard questioned. "All you care about is yourself. You are no better then our uncle was. I was wrong to think that they were. I always thought that deep down you were a better person."
"That is not true." Lukas said, tossing Bo's unconscious body to the ground.
Luke went to rush over to Bo's side. Lukas pulled out a gun and aimed it at Luke.
"Stop right there." Lukas demanded. "Tell me how that portal works or you're dead to."
Luke stopped. "I don't know how it works."
Lukas glared at Luke. "I don't believe you."
"Come on cousin don't do this." Beauregard said.
"Stay out of this cousin. This don't concern you." Lukas said.
"I am not going to let you kill him." Beauregard said, taking out his own gun and aiming it at Lukas.
"What are you little cousin? Shoot me?" Lukas questioned then laughed. "I know you can't do that, you wouldn't kill anyone."
Beauregard didn't respond he continued to aim the gun at Lukas.
"Besides you owe me. I saved your life." Lukas said.
"That is in the past. Everything has changed since then." Beauregard said.
"You know that our uncle was going to kill you. I stopped that from happening by killing him." Lukas said.
"Just drop the gun." Beauregard said, ignoring Lukas's last statement.
Lukas lowered the gun then smiled evilly and aimed the gun at Bo's head. "Tell me how that portal works or he is dead."
"I don't know how it works, if I knew I would tell you. I wouldn't do anything to in danger Bo's life." Luke said.
"I think you are lying." Lukas said preparing to pull the trigger.
The sound of a gunshot then echoed through the streets breaking the silence of the early morning. To stop Lukas from killing Bo, Beauregard had shot him in the head. Lukas's dead body lay on the ground in a pool of blood. Beauregard stood staring at his dead cousin, tears streaked his eyes. Luke rushed to Bo's side, and gently picked up his head and cradled it in his lap.
Beauregard looked over at Luke and Bo. "Is he . . ."
"No, he is alive he's just out cold." Luke said.
Luke looked down at Bo, biting back the tear that he felt swelling up in his eyes. "Wake up Bo. Don't you dare leave me."
Bo slowly started to wake up.
"Are you okay?" Luke asked, there was relief in his voice that Bo had woke up.
"I'm fine, once I start breathing again I'll feel even better." Bo said.
Luke helped Bo stand up, Bo stood leaning on Luke's shoulder.
"Thank you for stopping him . . ." Luke said his eyes motioning to Lukas's dead body. "I am sorry it had to happen that way though."
"There was no other choice I couldn't let him kill either of you." Beauregard said, tears still brimmed in his eyes. He wiped away the tears. "I know it was the only way to stop him. Not only from killing either of you but also to end his evil reign. I know he would never change. He was once a good person but that part of him died, he could never be that person again."
Both Bo and Luke felt sorry for Beauregard, they understood his pain and how hard it was for him to end his cousin's life. The blue portal opened again a few feet from them, though this time there was nothing trying to pull them in. Bo and Luke walked towards the portal, Bo was still leaning on Luke's shoulder. They turned and looked back at Beauregard.
"Thank you for your help." Luke said.
Beauregard just smiled and nodded. Bo and Luke waved good bye, as did Beauregard. Bo and Luke walked through the portal, which closed behind them.
