Nina Liu
Nina, a Gemini, was born in Sydney on June 15, 1977, and so far, she has studied some form of performing arts for most of her life.
She's a trained artist and dancer, and she did her own choreography in one episode of Heartbreak High as well.Her first acting experience was on a movie called the Long Ride. When a casting agent came to Nina's school, Killara High, looking for a young girl to play the role of Mai, she went to the casting call thinking it would be a good experience. She wanted to become succesfull, like her all time idol Audrey Hepburn, and she knew what she really wanted to do was dance. But after this movie Nina had become hooked to acting.
In 1994 Nina attended N.I.D.A. Summer School. She worked in several productions including Spellbinder, The Ghost Story, Floating Life and Naked: Stories of Men in 1995, and she thinks she was really lucky to get the chance to do that. Then in 1996 Nina got into Heartbreak High. She thinks her character Mai Hem is the most fantastic, as she's totally different from all the other characters. She is really opinionated and politically minded, but doesn't just talk about things she thinks are wrong, she goes out and does something about it too. She likes to cause chaos; hence the name! And of course, Mai wears really clothes that are really way out, which Nina loves.
Her favourite food is anything salty, and her favourite sport is dancing. Her first paying job on the road to success was a TV commercial for the Do the Right Thing campaign. Nina, whose major dislike is the dentist, likes spending time with friends and thus being in good company. She wants to be remembered as a happy person, loyal friend and loving her family.
