Free part thirty four
**
It's not far to Never Never Land
No reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy
Of innocence again
Oh, the canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Baby believe me, oh
Sailing takes me away
To where I've always heard it could be
I heard it could be
Just a dream and a wind to carry me
Soon I will be free, yeah
Fantasy, it gets the best of me
When I'm sailing, sailing
All the world in a reverie
Every word is a symphony
Won't you believe me, oh

"Liz, taking care of you, looking after you, it's something that comes naturally to me. Making you happy makes me happy. I do it because I love you, not because you're my burden or I feel guilty."
Liz smiled up at Lucky.
He grimaced. "Point taken."
Liz shifted and rolled her shoulders, the wall behind her not giving her much room for comfort. Lucky's eyes remained glued to her face, searching for any hint of insecurity.
"You okay?" he asked, considering taking a step or two backwards. Liz nodded and moved her hands to his shoulders, holding him in place. Lucky's hands had previously moved from the wall to Liz's waist. Now he slowly turned the two of them, making every move tenderly so Liz wouldn't freak, so they were in the exact opposite positions.
Liz leaned heavily on Lucky's chest. He was finding it increasingly hard to breath. He couldn't decide whether that was from her weight directly about his lungs or from her closeness. He could smell her unique scent, peppermint and a hint of rose. If Lucky could think of a perfect smell, it would be called Elizabeth.
"I think...we were talking about...something important," Liz murmured, her mind having gone blank somewhere along the line. She leaned upward.
"Baby," Lucky mumbled, his lips only centimeters away from Liz's. Liz briefly shot a questioning look to Lucky. "I don't think-" he began, but cut himself off by kissing Liz. He groaned and pulled back. "-That this is getting us anywhere."
Liz passed a hand over her mouth nervously and stepped back. "I'm...sorry."
Lucky rolled his eyes and followed her across the room.
"That's not exactly what I meant, Elizabeth. Baby, come back here!"
Liz scooted out of his reach and moved into the kitchen.
"Liz, honey, I'm not kidding."
Lucky reached for her, but she shied away. She giggled at his perturbed expression and scampered back into the living room. Her joviality brought a smile to Lucky's face.
He paused in the kitchen at the phone, indecision written all over his face, he chewed his lower lip. He picked up the phone and dialed. As he held the phone to his ear, Liz called from the other room.
"Oh, Lucky..."

The woods were shaded and cool. The sun at high noon was extremely warm.
"How much longer?" Liz asked from behind Lucky. She was breathing hard, and wiping sweat from her brow.
"The man I talked to said it was a forty minute bushwalk. We've been walking for half an hour, so I imagine another ten minutes should do it."
Lucky grinned and motioned to a large log lying on the ground. "But we can always take a break." He sat down heavily, straddling the log. Liz joined him seconds later, sitting in front of him and leaning back into his chest. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her gently but firmly.
"What are we doing this for again, anyway?" Liz asked sleepily.
"There's always a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow," Lucky returned.
"And that relates to this how?"
He chuckled. "You'll find out soon enough. Just finish resting so we can be on our way."
"I'm going to fall asleep if you don't watch out," Liz mumbled over a yawn. She sighed lightly.
"Oh, no you don't." Lucky stood and pulled the dragging Liz to her feet.
"Only a little further," he coaxed. Liz groaned and began walking.
"'Only a little further' he says," Liz said to herself, carefully stepping around a mossy rock. She continued grumbling until Lucky finally turned to her and stopped her with a kiss.
"Would you kindly shut up?" he asked sweetly when he pulled away.
"If you put it that way..."
Grins were exchanged, then the duo continued onward.
Lucky stopped Liz upon catching a glimpse of their destination. "You're supposed to close your eyes here," he bade Liz, with an endearing smile.
"But I'll trip..." Liz whined, secretly enjoying the attention Lucky was lavishing upon her.
"I'll carry you," Lucky offered, half-heartedly flexing his muscles. Liz burst out laughing. When she finally looked up, there were tears in her eyes. She nodded.
"Let's get this over with, already," she told him, stepping a little closer.
Lucky shifted his backpack carefully and lifted Liz into his arms.
"Don't drop me," she said, hiding her face in his neck.
"Don't worry. You're as light as a feather."
"I am not."
"Sure you are. What do you eat in a day? An apple?"
Liz giggled. "Nah, more like a few strawberries. You, on the other hand, must eat a ton to keep up that physique."
It was Lucky's turn to chuckle. He finally reached the open beach, just beyond the treeline.
"Here we are," he said softly, releasing Liz onto the sand. She turned to the water.
"The ocean," she breathed.
"They say this is the best beach on the island. I guess we'll find out, huh?"
"Oh, Lucky..."
"What?"
"How are you so perfect?"
"A gift, I suppose."
"And what are we doing here at the beach?"
"First, sunscreen."
Liz laughed aloud. "Your planning skills are still in perfect condition too, I see."
Lucky pulled a beach blanket from his pack, having removed it from his back a moment ago. He spread the blanket on the hot sand and sat down on it. He then sifted through the bag until he found the sunscreen.
"C'mere," he said to Liz, who plopped down in front of him. He squirted the precious stuff into her hands and she applied it to her face and arms. Lucky applied quite a bit to himself.
When Liz turned to face him, she nearly doubled over laughing. Lucky had a smear of the white stuff right on his forehead.
"What?" he asked innocently.
"You have...sunscreen...right there!" Liz reached up and wiped the spot off. She was leaning close, she was way inside Lucky's personal space. He leaned forward a bit and captured her lips with his.
"Mmm," Liz hummed, pulling back. Her eyes betrayed her discomfort, although she hid it well. "Okay, sunscreen on, now what?"
