All the fear has left me now
I'm not frightened anymore
It's my heart that pounds beneath my flesh
It's my mouth that pushes out this breath
And If I shed a tear, I won't cage it
I won't fear love.
And If I fell a rage, I won't deny it
I won't fear love.
Companion to our demons
They will dance and we will play
With chairs, candles, and clothes
Making darkness in the day.
It will be easy to look in or out
Upstream or down without a thought
And If I shed a tear, I won't cage it
I won't fear love
And If I feel a rage I won't deny it
I won't fear love
Peace in the struggle to find peace.
Comfort on the way to comfort
And if I shed a tear, I won't cage it
I won't fear love
And if I feel a rage, I won't deny it
I won't fear love.
I won't fear love
I won't fear love...

The sky was turning orange and purple at the horizon when Liz awoke. Her eyes fluttered open slowly. She was confronted with the wall of Lucky's chest in her immediate line of vision. It was rising and falling in an even rhythm, telling her that he was still asleep. She assessed her position.
Lucky was lying close to her side. His arms were wrapped possessively around her waist. Her feet were tangled with his, her arms tucked around his neck. She absently combed her fingers through the hair at his nape, wondering how she was going to manage breakfast.
Lucky felt a shock of electricity shoot through him when Liz began playing with his hair. He was fully awake instantly. He decided to pretend he wasn't for a moment, and see exactly what she would do.
Her fingertips found a pattern to follow. She was thinking of bacon and sunny-side-up eggs, when she felt Lucky's breathing quicken.
"Good morning," she whispered, craning her neck to get a view of his face.
"Morning, baby," he replied lightly, his eyes still closed.
Liz flushed.
"So...*baby*..." she murmured, a semi-wicked smile gracing her lips. "What did you want for breakfast?"
"Oh, I don't know," Lucky said, over a yawn. "Too bad we can't order room service, huh?"
"Don't trust my culinary skills, right?"
Lucky lazily opened his eyes.
"Do I have to answer that?"
Liz nuzzled lightly under his chin. "Do you want breakfast or not?"
"I just want you."
Liz froze. Her gaze shot up to Lucky's. His face was warm and pink.
"I didn't-"
"Mean that?" Liz's voice was more vulnerable than she would have liked.
"Mean for that to come out that way."
Liz smiled awkwardly. "Well, then, how would you like me done? Over easy? Sunny side up? Scrambled? I mean, because it's pretty much a given that you have me..."
Lucky's world slowed to a stop.
"Is it?" His words were unhurried, not betraying the anxiousness that squeezed his heart like a hand.
Liz frowned. "Of course. Why would you think any diff- oh."
Lucky lightly chucked under her chin when she tried to look away from him. "Yes, 'oh.'"
"I - I can understand why you would, uh - think that, that is, but I can assure you that - that..." Rational thought fled as Lucky's fingers gently moved from Liz's chin to her lips.
"Are you mine?" Lucky wondered in a whisper, giving into his focus on her face.
"Do you even have to ask?"
"*Yes*."
"Right."
"Are you mine?"
"Yes."
Liz punctuated her one word statement by reaching up and kissing Lucky's lips gently. Lucky smiled through her kiss.
"Always?" he asked, pulling away for the moment. Liz only let him get a few inches away before locking her arms and keeping him in place.
"Always."
His lips descended on hers with tantalizing sweetness. She lingered in his kiss until she was in desperate need of air, not wanting to let him - and the closeness she was feeling - go.
"Breakfast?" she asked breathily, flushed delicately.
Lucky groaned. "Baby, it's still dark outside. Go back to sleep."
"It's morning."
"But I'm not done sleeping yet."
"So sleep."
"Not without you here."
Liz laughed aloud.
"As you wish."
"Where have I heard that before?"
A smug smile lit Liz's face.
"Nevermind," Lucky said, removing one arm from around Liz and stretching it behind him. He replaced it as soon as she shifted her position.
"I'm not going anywhere," Liz told him affectionately.
"I didn't say you were."
"Just go to sleep before I have to wipe that grin off of your face."
"What grin? That's not a grin."
Liz silenced him with a searing kiss.
"Now it is."
