My -61 Chevy Step-side Pick-up Project.
I have started my project in mid July 1999. I have imported this 1961 Chevy Step-side Pick-up from New York. It is in a sad state right now - but you just wait and see.
It has a 350 cu.in. - approximately 5.7 liters - V8 from a 1994 Camaro and 3 speed automatic gear-box in it right now. I plan to keep this. Overhaul it and make it look nice. Crome a few parts, but basically keep it as it is. There is a lot of corrosion that needs to be taken care of. The whole cabin interior will be changed, power-windows will be installed. We'll see about the instruments - what do I do with it ??
I plan to put a new and mordern chassis under the body - possibly one from a Blazer - complet with discs and drums power-brakes, power-steering. The drive-train will be geared for a combination of acceleration, speed and comfort.
Color - we will see, but I am weak for blue colors.
I hope to have it finished, registered and running by Christmas-time !!
