WHAT'S NEW:

I have since moved to back to Canada!  So I guess it is time to change the name of this website to JD in Canada.  I am trying to find work here in a similar field.  Presently I have not dedicated a whole lot of time to that as I am taking my time to re-adapt to Western life.

But I am still reading the papers and am still energized by the issues this website is dedicated to.

So what is new?  I have one new article that I submitted to The Globe and Mail (a national newspaper in Canada).  They rejected it - which was not a surprise as this paper is strongly right-wing - BUT it is available right here under MY LATEST BEEFS page of the ARTICLES section.

The article was recently reinforced by a study released by the National Farmers Union, which stated that profit hoarding by the agri-conglomerates is the cause of the farm income crisis in Canada.  That study is available at the NFU website (www.nfu.ca) and is titled [I believe] European Union Subsidies are Not the Cause of the Income Crisis.

Anyway - I will be sitting in on a meeting in Ottawa March 27 and 28 wherein several Canadian organizations will be discussing strategies to address Food Security issues in Canada.  Lets hope we can get something into the news.
