This section will guide you through the proccess of creating a character;
everything from stat generation to super powers is covered here.

First off, you need a few things:

  • (1) Dice. A number of 10 sided dice will be needed. In general, four dice per person should be ample.
  • (2) A character sheet. You will need this to record the aspects of your character.
  • (3) A pencil. Of course, if you prefer, you can use a pen, but it makes changing the character harder.
  • (4) A calculator. Some things in Anime RPG need calculating, and while it is assumed you can count, it tends to be much quicker to use a calculator.

Okay, you got all that? Well then, it's on to step one.

    Step One
You need a character concept. While it's all fine and good (and sometimes very entertaining) to just slap random elements together, it seldom makes for a very memorable character. So, you need to imagine a character in your head, and decide it's nature. Is it a spandex clad ninja babe? A mysterious magician with a checkered past? A wise-cracking, gun-toting alien? Once you have decided on a character concept, you can go on to make your charater, forming him around the concept.

    Step Two
Get your dice in hand, as well as some scrap paper. Then, follow the directions in the section on Attributes and Skills. Remember to round any fractions down.

    Step Three
Now, you get to determine your other Skills. The detailed rules for this can be found in the section on Attributes and Skills. But, boiled down, roll 1d100, and place on Other Skills as desired. These skills tend to be weapon based, but if a desired skill is not listed under Attributes, then this is the place for it (Ex. Cooking, Insults, etc.)

    Step Four
Now, you get to determine your power points and buy powers. This is found by asking your GM what power scale he's using (this can be found in the intro, for all you GM's out there.) Then roll the appropriate dice, write down the result, and buy your powers. Ask your GM about Good/Bad Things; particularly the ratio. Usually, it's 1 level of Bad Things for every level of Good Things. There are many different and varied powers you can select, and some of them have their own section. For conveniance's sake, they are listed below, more or less in alphebetical order.

  • Alchemy
  • Astrology
  • Aura
  • Control Of Elements
  • Crystalogy
  • Magic
  • Minor Abilities (Including Street Fighter Minor Abilities)
  • Psionics
  • Shoot Energy
  • Street Fighter Powers
  • The Force
  • Weapon Mastery

As well, there are several options dealing with mechanization available.

    Step Five
Now you have to buy equipment. You start with $300.

That's it. Your character is now ready to go. If you can't find someone to GM, you can always join the online RPing at the Anime RPG Mailing List
