Description

A petite dusky-hued young woman clothed as befits a Varati woman of the Kshatri caste. Long raven black hair cascades, unbound, like a shiny, even silken, cape, past her shoulders and down her back, reaching nearly to her ankles; olive green eyes are partially obscured by a silvery-hued gossamer-like veil drawn across her lower face.
She wears a simple choli top and a long flowing skirt, both items navy blue in colour. A long veil of the same colour provides further protection from both the coldness of early spring and prying eyes. It is draped, casually, about the top of her head, akin to a head covering, before trailing gracefully to the ground but, if necessary, can be used, almost like a cloak, to cover her slender frame as well. A silvery hued gossamer-like sash, matching the veil across the lower half of her face, is belted about her waist, following the young woman's hair and veil to the ground. Silver jewellery adorns her fingers, wrists and ankles in the form of rings, bracelets and anklets. Finally, upon her feet are a pair of dainty black slippers.

Background

      One of the youngest daughters of Kitsu and Lakshmi, the young Varati woman known as Leila, the proverbial runt of the litter, has always been abnormally petite, for a Varati anyway.
     Regardless, Leila was pretty much raised as befits a Varati woman of the Kshatri caste. The trouble was, throughout this young woman's life, she was always overshadowed by her more beautiful sisters. Her height didn't help matters at all.
     Always following her mother about as a young child, Leila was a favoured, if somewhat spoiled, child. Indeed, Leila was excused from many a social obligation but, as she grew older, she found more contentment in her own company anyway.
     More often than not overlooked, Leila quietly cultivated her interests in animals, herbs, and music.
     The fact that she was so often overlooked even came with a few advantages. Naturally quiet and attentive, Leila picks up more than she should conversation-wise but, additionally, it allows her to explore her new-found magical abilities in secrecy.
     Indeed, Leila is a Fire-Elementalist and she holds this secret close to her heart.
     Recently, however, Lakshmi packed Leila off to Atesh-Gah there to stay with her older brother Sumai, Warlord of Clan Messala.
