Description
You see a petite woman with a trim, even athletic, figure no more than 21 years of age. Long, slightly curly, dark hair cascades, unbound, past her shoulders and down her back in contrast to the woman's smooth sandy white complexion; sea green eyes glow softly with a hint of mischievousness. At either side of her throat small slits, barely visible, serve as gills. They, like her webbed fingers and toes, betray her Atlantean heritage.
She is dressed simply in an ivory-coloured peasant style blouse and a pair of black breeches. A red sash is tied securely about her waist; a sheathed bone knife hangs in a scabbard at her side.
Background
Although Lorelei was born in the Decemvirate of Orman, just like her father, her mother was a native of Lir.
Many a time Lorelei has heard the story which led to the premature death of her mother.
The young Atlantean's father called himself an explorer and explore he did instead of following in his own father's footsteps as a member of the Ephorate.
It was while he was engaged as an explorer that he met his true love, Lorelei's mother. Apparently it was love at first sight but, unfortunately, their happiness was not to last. Lorelei's father found it necessary to return to his home with or without his newfound love. Luckily for Lorelei, he was successful in persuading his lady love to return with him.
It was not long before Lorelei was born. Just like her mother, she
has been mute since birth.
The death of Lorelei's mother was not long in coming. Apparently she died of homesickness - leaving behind a grief-stricken husband and young Lorelei, no more than a toddler.
As a result of the tragedy, Lorelei grew up doted upon by her father. Indeed, the young child accompanied her father upon his frequent explorations thereafter.
Curious as the proverbial cat, she loved to explore and, more often than not, she did so on her own despite all her father's warnings; it was on one such occasion that she was kidnapped by pirates.
Although she took to the lifestyle and became Cartographer of the "Amarada" she never again returned to Orman and has not seen the remnants of her family, namely her father and grandfather, since.
