Teleran Quizari's "Why Waste Your Time?"
Larry Niven's Tales of Known Space Page

Not to long ago I found "Ringworld" in a second hand book store and decided to read it on a whim. I won't deny there where a lot of interesting ideas in that book, but it really didn't catch my attention. While travelling in Australia I needed something to read at a hostel one night and chanced across an old copy of "Patchwork Girl" and found myself finally caught. Eventually I came across the collected "Flatlander" which collects all the tales of Gil the ARM Hamilton. Later "Crashlander", covering the tales of Beowulf Shaeffer. Its primarily from these two collections that the following pages will be created. Eventually I'll track down the rest of the Ringworld books, maybe the books about Jinx and the Man-Kzin Wars. This will be in no way an attempt to create a complete setting for play. It will be more an attempt to show the very much cyberpunk elements in these books.

For legal purposes I'll say this. None of this is done with permission. All properties here are copyrighted by Larry Niven, and I am not attempting to challenge those rights in any fashion. I just want to share something I enjoyed with other players. If there's any problem with this page contact me and I'll correct them.

In addition I was once sent a fairly large Ringworld conversion, but its been lost and and I no longer know who sent it to me. I haven't used any of it here, this was all built rather quickly one weekend. I'd be more than happy to post submissions here if that person ever reads this page. I haven't attempted to tackle anything involved in Ringworld here, just to mention it. I based this material on Flatlander and Crashlaner.

Some Basic Ideas from Known Space:
Known Space is a surprisingly Cyberpunk setting at times, here are some reasons why.

Meet Some of the People of Known Space:
Niven has created some very interesting characters in this series. This tells you about 2 of them, maybe one days I'll present stats.

Meet Some of the Races of Known Space:
Development on different worlds leads to different races, and Known Space has more than its share.

Some of the Technology of Known Space:
Many neat things to see and use in Known Space.
