There are several interesting characters in the Matrix movie. I am not going to present stats and such for them, if you wish to play them then use your own intrepretation of them. I will merely detail a little about them from what I can remember of the film.
In some ways Morpheus is the most important character in the movie. He is captain of the hovership Nebuchadnezzar, and one of the more influential voices in Zion. It his belief in the Chosen One that drives the quest of Zion.
Morpheus is a believer, his whole purpose in life is to find the Chosen One and he'll gladdly sacrifice his own life to find him. Charismatic and focused he is the teacher. He is the father, it is his drive that keep shis crew together.
Agent Smith: Lieutenant.
Lieutenant: Oh Shit.
Agent Smith: Lieutenant, you where given specific orders.
Lieutenant: Hey I'm just doing my job. You give me that juris-my-diction crap and you can cram it up your ass.
Agent Smith: The orders where for your protection.
Lieutenant: Ha ha, I think we can handle one little girl…I sent two units; they're bringing her down now.
Agent Smith: No Lieutenant, your men are already dead.
Gorgeous and sexy, lethal. Trinity is a warrior for the cause, a skilled fighter whose face can be a weapon in its own right. Her love is the catalyst for the Chose One's realization of what he is.
A bitter and angry rebel, fighting for the wrong cause. Jealous of Neo and his affect on Trinity, sick of the sludge he has to call food, he betrays everyone one for the chance to return to the Matrix.
Apoc is another of the more or less undeveloped characters. Large and hispanic we learn very little about him before his death at Cypher's hands.
A lesser light, overshadowed by Trinity, Switch has little real development before her death at Cypher's hands. A willing warrior to a cause she believes in, and a leader she almost thinks of as a father.
Born of Zion he's never actually been into the Matrix. Happy go lucky and filled with a zest for life, he is the main operator for those returning to the Matrix. A deck hacker who can almost read the code of the Matrix as it flows before his eyes.
Massive and quiet Tank is Dozer's older brother, and another true blood of Zion. He says little but does his part as best he can. He too dies at Cypher's hands.
Part nerd, part geek. Mouse is the team's orginal code designer, his work went into large parts of the training sequences used to bring newly awakened up to speed. Particularly the Lady in the Red Dress.
Agent Smith: As you can see we've had our eye on you for some time now Mr. Anderson. It seems you've been living two lives. In one life you are Thomas A. Anderson, program writer for a respectable software company. You have a social insurance number, you pay your taxes, and you help your landlady carry out her garbage. The other life is lived in computers, where you go by the hacker alias Neo, and are guilty of virtually every computer crime we have a law for. One of these lives has a future, the other does not…
The head of the trio of agents who are assigned to stop Morpheus. He's also the only one with a personality. He finds humans repulsive, sees them as a virus. He hates them with a passion his programming shouldn't really include. His only goal...destroy Zion so he can leave the Matrix and its human filth.
Trinity: Right now all I can tell you is that you are in danger. I brought you here to warn you.
Neo: What?
Trinity: They're watching you Neo.
Neo: Who is?
Trinity: Please, just listen. I know why you are here Neo. I know what you've been doing, I know why you hardly sleep, why you live alone and night after night you sit alone in front of your computer. You're looking for him. I know because I was once looking for the same thing. And when he found me, he told me I wasn't looking for him; I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us Neo; it's the question that brought you here. You know the question, just as I did.
Neo: What is the Matrix.
Trinity: The answer is out there Neo, it's looking for you. And it will find you, if you want it to.
The Chosen One. And for most of the movie the one with the least clue. Neo is largely a dreamer, wondering why the Matrix doesn't feel entirely right. Seeking Morhpeus for the answers, never knowing he is the answer. Able to bend the Matrix with his mind, in essence a perfect hacker, running on only instinct.
