KOF 2000 NEWS !!!
New Changes
There are several changes in the new tournament. Some things are thrown into the trashbins while others are brought back again.
This section will give you a rough idea what they are and how it affects the game.
Striker System
MAX Super Moves
Taunt
Counter Mode
Armour Mode
Dodge
Striker System
The Striker System still remains in this game, due to the possibilities of extra hits and combos, caused by the surprise attacks of the Strikers.
However, KOF 2000 has brought the Striker System even further to new heights this time round, so
go to Strikers Information for more details.
Max Super Moves
A new change to the usual way of performing your MAX Super Moves. No longer will the life guage has any effects on whether you are using your
MAX Super Moves, meaning a red life bar will not allow you to use your MAX Super Moves. This time, you can perform it at anytime, provided u have
3 power points at your disposal. Therefore, using MAX Super moves in KOF 2000 will be quite similar as to using counter mode or armour mode,
as all 3 power points will be spent.
This is what happens in a normal Super Moves.
During the MAX Super Moves, the background changes colour.
Taunt
Taunting has a new role in KOF 2000. Not only that it will decrease the Power meter, but if you manage to decrease one power point from your
opponent, you will be awarded an extra Striker point. However, the extra Striker point is unable to exceed your maximum number of Strikers for that round.
That means for the first character, the maximum number of Strikers is 3.
It will be more fun seeing taunts being used more often.
Counter Mode
Like the previous work, the mode that allows you to link special moves or Super moves from normal or other special moves
is available once more.
Will more incredible combos be created from this mode?
Armour Mode
The mode that allows you to attack fiercely without fear of a multi-hit move is back too.
I hope that this time, the guage will last longer.
Dodge
Gone are the dodging methods of '99 where you can attack while avoiding attacks or the flip-back-and-jump-forward move. Making its return, is the forward and backward roll of '98.
Will the comeback of this move add to the fun of the game?
Press here to go back.
