Redoubt enterprises in association with Front Line Wargames is proud to present an American Civil War/Wild West train in 25mm scale. A highly detailed model of the type of locomotive and cars commonly seen in photographs and paintings of the period, this hansom resin and metal model will add realism to many battlefields and grace any collectors display. Used by both sides in the conflict to carry supplies and reinforcements, they were the targets of frequent raids, especially by the cavalry of the Confederate forces. They became the centerpiece of many small battles and skirmishes, sometimes bringing badly needed men up to the front line and sometimes being stripped of supplies to be used by the rebels. The model can also be used in many Wild West scenarios either as a backdrop to the action or playing a central role, as in a robbery. We can supply one foot long resin track and bed sections or the train will fit normal 'O' gauge track.

The engine and tender combination, when coupled together, measures 12 inches long and comes with an engineer, fireman and train guard to stand on the footplate or caboose. During assembly the cab roof can be left separate for easier access. The caboose is 5 inches long ad set upon 2 4-wheel bogies. It has a lift off roof complete with chimney, and a handrail and ladder each end. The flatcars are 8 inches long with double bogie axles. There is also a shorter flatcar, 5 inches long with special coupling so that it may be attached to the cowcatcher at the front of the locomotive. When equipped with an artillery piece or mortar this could be used to clear the way ahead of ambushes or blockages or to be brought up for use against siege works.
