>THE STORY<
It was a quiet and cool morning as the stork flew through the pre-dawn sky. In his bill he carried a set of twins which were to be delivered to their mother and father who lived in the Mushroom Kingdom.
As the stork raced raced toward its destination, a loud shriek was suddenly heard not to far ahead. As the Stork looked ahead it saw a giant turtle in a wizard's gown rushing towards it with its arms outstretched to seize the twins which it carried in its bill. Unable to react, the stork was quickly seized and dragged back toward King Bowser's castle where the wizard recided. However, the sudden seizure caused the stork to drop one of the babies from its bill and thus the newborn quickly began to fall to a certain doom at the ocean below.
Meanwhile, on Yoshi's Island, one of the green Yoshies was out on a peaceful hike through the woods. It was a rather pleasant day and green Yoshi was taking his time to enjoy the beauty of the forest when he suddenly heard a strange sound. Looking up he quickly glanced upon the pouch before it pounded off his head and hopped back on his saddle. Confused on what just happened, the Yoshi slowly turned around to see a newborn human baby with a red cap peeking its head out from inside the pouch. As the Yoshi ponders on what just happened he is once more smacked on the head. Looking down in front of him he notices that a folded up piece of paper now lay before him. Opening up the paper the Yoshi notices what appears to be a map which is marked with many lines that connect to many strange shapes. "This is odd." the green Yoshi said to himself puzzled. "Perhaps I should go back and talk to my friends about this, maybe they can help me out." And after saying this the green Yoshi removes the baby from his saddle, takes him out of the pouch, and re-sits the newborn on his saddle again. With a smile the green Yoshi turns around and says, "Shall we be off then?", and at this the two head off to Yoshi Village.
Meanwhile at King Bowser's Castle, the wizard returns with his prize and prepares to lock away the twins and the stork when he suddenly realizes that he is missing one. He then proceeds to harass the stork and accuses him of purposely dropping the one baby. As the wizard proceeds to bash upon the poor stork, his toadies hover quickly in. "Kamek." the one hisses. "Shall we go out and search for the other?" Kamek stopped attacking the stork and turned to face his toadies. "Yes! Go out and search the whole ocean if you have too! Just get me that baby!!" Upon finishing the toady hisses to Kamek, "As you wish, master." And at this Kamek's henchmen proceed out to the ocean in search of the missed infant. "He mustn't escape me!" Kamek snarled as he finished tying the stork up. "It will spell calamity for the master if that baby isn't either caught or dead!"
Back on Yoshi's Island, green Yoshi has just arrived back at Yoshi Village and everyone is in an uproar over the newborn baby which fell from the sky. After much debate they all decide to team up with their fellow relatives across the island to help take the baby back to its parents, which they believe live up in the sky, through a transport system much like the old Pony Express. Though, they are unaware that Kamek's Toadies have also just arrived on the island and have located the baby's crash site and are now actively searching the island for the infant.
Will the Yoshies be able to return the baby to its parents? Or will Kamek succeed in capturing the other baby who he believes will cause his master grief? Only when you play the game will you be able to find out. Good Luck!

Misc. Notes
Yoshi's Island was the sequel to the very popular Super Nintendo pilot game, Super Mario World. Although this game may have the upper heading of "Super Mario World 2" it was barely noticeable because Yoshi's Island was set as a prequel to all the Mario games and thus Mario is a baby and basically relies on the Yoshies he rides on for transportation and safety. In Yoshi's Island you travel throughout the island through six worlds in which each has eight stages. Part of these eight stages are a Fort Level, (*-4), and a Castle Level, (*-8), in which you, at the end, fight a boss that was created from Kamek's evil magic. If your successful in beating all of these stages and manage to get a score of 100 in each of them. That is, collecting all 20 Red Coins in a level, all 5 flowers, and managing to keep Mario's crying timer at 30 seconds, (This is accomplished through collecting stars), you will open up a special level and earn the ability to play one of the Bonus Challenges as many times as you want without having to clear a level and collecting flowers for the GOAL! Ring.
Some other interesting bits of information are that this game featured the combined powers of the Super FX2 chip and a fairly new technology called Morphmation. These two technologies helped to create the huge monsters and spectacular special effects without sacrificing graphic quality and enjoyable game play. However, this game was sadly greatly overlooked due to the fact that it was released in late 1995. This was when the greater half of the population was beginning to trade in their old 16-Bit systems for the new 32-Bit CD systems that were offered by both Sega and Sony. All in all this game offers great gameplay which will keep any player amused for quite a long period of time and its enjoyability will make you want to go through it again and again. A definate must play for anyone who enjoyed Yoshi's Story or has yet to experience a great Yoshi game.
