Cyberware you need to survive:
Wired Reflexes.
Frequently you'll be outgunned, but if you can shoot ten people in one second, the odds may just improve.
Just make sure you go to a clinic in Chiba. They do the best surgery
Smartlink: Let's face it, everyone needs a little help aiming.
Cyberguns: Very useful when you have to carry out an assassination.
It's worth paying the money for a hidden gun... Just walk up to their back and shoot with your hand...
Just make sure you cover your retreat with some smoke grenades...
Cranium Bombs:
I know what you're thinking - 'why would i want to blow my head to shreds?'
The answer is - you don't. Just buy a friend some cyber head wear, and slip the doc some money to put in a head bomb...
You now have black mail on them... Or better still, don't tell em.
Send em to talk with someone you have to frag over, and press the remote control button.
I tell you, people bombs are the last things anyone will expect...

Other advice:
Pay your protection money on time:
the criminals in your local area probably have links to your Fixer. Even if
they dont kill you for not paying up, they might force the seller to stop supplyin' ya with those
oh so illegal guns.
A Shadow runner is helpless without a fixer.
