"I'm going to go see how my mom is doing if that's okay. I'll meet you guys later on in the waiting room," Tay said as they entered the hospital.
"Umm...Tay," Sierra asked hesitantly, "Do you think maybe I could go up there with you? There is someone I've just been dying to meet all day."
"Um, sure, whatever you want. First, you have to tell me who you are 'dying' to meet."
"Uhhh, well, it's um, Isaac," Sierra said.
"Oh, Ike? He's such a goofball, but sure!"
"Is that okay, Paige?" Sierra asked her friend.
"Oh, sure! Just meet me later in my grandpa's room."
"Okay. Good luck with your grandpa! See you later!" Sierra said. "Wish me luck," she whispered into her friend's ear.
"Hey Dad, how is Mom doing?" Tay asked Walker.
"Oh, she's getting close," Walker replied excitedly.
"Have you seen Ike, Dad?" Tay asked as his dad was pacing around the waiting room.
"Oh, I think he ran down the hall to the vending machines."
"-K-, thanks, Dad," Tay said as he led Sierra down the hall.
"Thanks, Mr. Hanson," Sierra finally spoke up as they went out the door.
"Hey Ike, there's someone I want you to meet," Tay explained.
"Taylor!" Isaac scolded as he turned around, seeing Tay standing next to a girl that he was sure was a fan.
Isaac gave a "what do you think you are doing?" glance at Taylor, who ignored it, "This is Sierra; I ran into her and her friend earlier today. Her friend's grandpa had a heart attack."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Nice to meet you, um, uhh..."
"Sierra."
"Oh, Sierra."
"Same here, Isaac," Sierra said, a little disappointed, "I better go see how Paige's grandpa is doing. I guess we'll see you guys later?"
"Yeah; we'll meet you on your grandpa's floor in a little bit," Tay said as he felt a glare from Isaac.
"Okay, bye Tay; Bye, Isaac-nice to have met you," Sierra commented as she started down the hall. But once she turned the corner she stopped and listened. She could hear Ike griping at Taylor.
"Tay, why do you pull stuff like that? You know the only reason girls want to meet us is because we are famous."
"That's not true for everyone, Ike," Tay said, getting a little upset.
"Well, anyways, have fun when you meet up with them downstairs. I think I'll just stay up here, away from any obsessive fans."
When Sierra heard this, tears welled up in her eyes. She ran for the elevator.
Why is he being so mean? I just wanted to see what he was like in person. It's not like I screamed and pulled on his clothes and hair. He called me obsessive! I guess I'll just go back to dreaming what it would've been like to meet Isaac Hanson. Only in my dreams, he will like me! Sierra thought to herself as she got off onto the tenth floor.
"Hey Sierra, what's wrong?" Paige asked as she saw her distraught friend, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I am. Let's just say my meeting Isaac wasn't as pleasant as yours with Taylor."
"I really wouldn't call being drenched in Pepsi pleasant, but what happened?"
"He was mad at Taylor for bringing me up there to meet him. I heard him griping Tay out as I was leaving. He called me obsessive, Paige!" Sierra said as a tear fell from her eye.
"Oh, Sierra, I'm so sorry! I'm sure when he gets to know you he'll forget about what he said and think you are great."
"Yeah, right. He doesn't even want to see me again. Only Tay is coming down here to meet up with us."
"I'm sure Taylor will get him to change his mind," Paige said, trying to comfort her friend.
"I sure hope so. But anyway, how is your grandpa?"
"He's doing a little better; he's talking to us now. Do you want to see him?"
"Sure," Sierra said as she followed Paige into the hospital room.
"Hey, Tay," Paige said as she saw him coming through the door.
"Hi, Paige. Hey Sierra. Sorry, Isaac couldn't come; our mom really needed him," Taylor said, trying to cover up for Ike. Sierra gave Paige a knowing glance.
"That's okay, Tay. We were about to go home, anyway," Sierra explained, "We've had a long day."
"Tell me about it," he replied, "And my mom is still in labor."
"Well, 'hope she has her baby soon," Paige said, "We better go now because we were supposed to meet Kristen at my house so she could go t.p.ing with us. We couldn't get ahold of her on the phone, so hopefully she will just show up. But I seriously doubt we will go now. We'll probably just hang out."
"Okay, it was nice to meet you guys. Do you think I could give you a call sometime?" Taylor asked apprehensively.
"Sure; here's my number," Paige said as she jotted it down on a leftover napkin she had in her pocket from earlier.
"Thanks; I hope your grandpa gets better," Tay said.
"Thank you! Call us after your mom has her baby and fill us in," Paige said.
"Sure, but I better go now. Later days," Tay said as he was backing into an elevator.
"Byyyyye!" Sierra and Paige said together.
Meanwhile, Isaac was talking to Zac in the waiting room upstairs, "...And when I decided to go down there, just to be nice, they were gone. I couldn't even find Tay-maybe it was for the best. I almost got involved with a fan once before, and it turned into a nightmare."
"Well," Zac asked, "Was she a hot chick?"
"She wasn't bad," Ike replied, grinning.
"Then what was the problem? Go for it!" Zac exclaimed.
"Zac, maybe when you go through puberty you will realize that it's not just the outside that counts. Girls get so confusing when they get older."
"Whatever you say, Ike. Let's go and see how mom is doing."
"Sure," Isaac said as he thought to himself, I wonder if Tay got her number.
