And the last one (Christ) means the Adult-type Adam.
Of course, both Nerv and Seele could not make the Adult-type Adam.

However EVA Unit 01 is so strong that all Angels were defeated much fast.
Seele had to cause the Third Impact as soon as possible to kill Gendou.
As I wrote, Kaworu means Free Will. He could cause the Third Impact.
However he loved Shinji. He gave up the annihilation of mankinds.
Before Kaworu met Shinji, his "Free Will" had chosen Seele's control for a while.

In fact, massproduction-model EVA units that Seele made were 9 sets.
The Longinus Spear is "Core Trigger" of the Tree of Life.
They needed EVA Unit 00 with Dummy Plug Rei which could handle the Spear.
But EVA Unit 00 was destroyed.
They used EVA Unit 01 next.
