"Ah! My Goddess" is still popular in Japan. Kousuke Fujishima's original cartoon has not finished yet. Recently the 125th chapter was released. Kodansha published the 18th volume of comic book Nobember 1998.
By the way, formerly Kousuke Fujishima, the author, drew 4-framed cartoons on Ah! My Goddess. They were already published as a book titled "The Adventures of Mini-Goddess (Japanese: Ah! Megami Sama! Chicchaitte Kotowa Benri Dane!)" in 10/23/1996.
Thereafter WOWOW, a private satellite broadcast TV station, began to broadcast anime-type "Ah! My Goddess" in 1998. However it is with charge. Of course, I cannot see the program.
Formerly I wrote here on the anime. AIC made OVA-type Ah! My Goddess. In the anime, Ms Kikuko Inoue played the role of Belldandy, the heroine.
Ms Inoue became pregnant and vacationed for a while.
After she had a baby, she began to work as a voice actress again. Since then I saw her in several events. She began to play the role of Belldandy again.
Now WOWOW's Ah! My Goddess is a digitalized anime. It is very colorful. Recently I obtained a video tape on the anime.
I saw it and thought.
It deals with Fujishima's four-framed cartoon "Adventures of Mini-Goddess."
Therefore the hero is Mr. Mitsuo Iwata (CV = Mr. Mitsuo Iwata).
In the series, a male rat plays the main role. In CDs, Voice Actor Mitsuo Iwata played the role of the hero rat. Thus Kousuke Fujishima called the rat Mitsuo Iwata. Therefore Mitsuo Iwata must play the role of the nonsense hero.
Formerly he is not so popular. Thereafter he began to work with Ms Yuko Miyamura, who formerly played the role of Asuka Langlay Souryu from EVA. There he is a DJ. He got popular. He has a comical character.
In the series, Mitsuo Iwata is a pet of Urd.
But the rat is happy enough to play with Urd, Skuld and Belldandy.
Another character, Marller (CV = Urara Takano, who plays the role of Maria tachibana from Sakura Wars) is a devil.
She is Urd's enemy. In the original cartoon, Marller fought against Urd several times.
In the anime, Marller used three Ninja fighters to defeat Goddesses.
In the orginal comic books (8th and 9th), they were called "Ninja Masters."
In 12/21/98 anime, the Ninja Masters appeared!
Ninja Masters consist of "Genwaku No Kodama (Kodama the Dazzler)" "Senkou No Hikari (Hikari the Flash)" and "Senrigan No Nozomi (Nozomi the Clairvoyante)."
As you know, Kodama, Hikari and Nozomi are train names of JR New Trunk Line in Japan.
Now, famous voice actresses play the role of these three characters.
What?
Ms Emi Shinohara plays the role of Kodama.
She played the role of Sailor Jupitor.
Recently she plays the role of Kaho Mizuki from Card Captor Sakura.
Ms Michie Tomizawa plays the role of Hikari.
She played the role of Sailor Mars.
Recently she plays the role of Sumire Kanzaki from Sakura Wars.
Ms Yukana plays the role of Nozomi.
She played the role of Sylvy form Meltylancer.
Recently she plays the role of Ms Mei-Ling Li from Card Captor Sakura.
In the original cartoon, these three were made from rats using a video tape "Ninja Master" at a ruin amusement arcade.
On the other hand, in the anime, these three were made at a ruin amusement arcade. But they were based on an arcade video game machine. The game looked like a Samurai Shodown. But both fighters are ninjas.
These three like TV programs dealing with sword fight very much. It is their weak point.
The three voice actresses joined the regular of "Ah! My Goddess." We are looking forward to the next chaptor.
