Color picture: Shaoran sits in a tree {what is it with this story and people in trees??} cradling a small twig of cherry blossoms in his hands.

pg 5:

It's a sunny morning. Sakura wakes up next to a snoring Kero-chan.

pg 6:

Sakura: It's okay now!

She smiles into the mirror.

Sakura: It's me, same as always.

pg: 7

[Memory.]

Shaoran: It's all right. You'll definitely find that person...

Sakura: *holding his handkerchief* Thank you, Shaoran-kun.

pg. 8

Downstairs in the kitchen.

Fujitaka: Good morning! Early today, aren't you?

Sakura: Yeah, I woke up early! (Here's the newspaper.)

Sakura: What is it?

Fujitaka: ...I'm glad. You're feeling better now, aren't you?

pg. 9

Fujitaka: Lately, you've been a bit down...

Sakura: *alarmed* Have I been acting weird!?

Fujitaka: No. But I can tell. *smiling* I'm your dad, after all.

pg. 10

Sakura: Thank you for noticing... I'm really okay again now.

Fujitaka: *smile* In that case, how about if I fix one of your favorites for breakfast today?

Sakura: REALLY!? (Woohoo!) Then LET'S HAVE PANCAKES!! (With lots of maple syrup!)

The newspaper mysteriously vanishes from her hands.

Sakura: Huh?

pg. 11

Touya has stolen it.

Sakura: AAAH-!!

Touya: *semi-conscious* ...Mrning.

Fujitaka: Good morning.

Sakura: ONIICHAN!

She kicks him. He doubles over.

Touya: ------- *pain*

Sakura: Huh? (That's amazing, he just took it!)

Fujitaka [to Touya]: You're looking awfully tired. Everything all right?

Touya: Yeah...

pg. 12

Touya: I'm not sick or anything... (Just spaced out, that's all.)

Sakura [narration]: Ever since he gave his power to Yue-san, Oniichan has seemed tired all the time.

(In the background:
Touya: You want help?
Fujitaka: I'm all right. You sit down.)

Sakura [narration]: Kero-chan said that it's probably the after-effects of Oniichan handing over all of his power. Just like after you donate blood.

pg. 13

Sakura [narration]: *worried* But when you donate blood, your body can make more of it. Since Oniichan's magic can't come back, Kero-chan said he'll probably be like this from now on..... Even so, Oniichan... gave all of his power. To keep Yue-san and Yukito-san from disappearing.

pg. 14

Sakura: YUMMY! Really, Dad, your cooking's so good! I doubt there are any other dads out there like mine! (HAP-PI-NESS!)

Fujitaka: Why, thank you.

Sakura: Oh, but I guess Eriol-kun is kind of like you-- (He's not a dad, but--)

Fujitaka: Is that the transfer student from England you mentioned earlier?

Sakura: Yeah! He wears glasses and always smiles really nice! And he's good at cooking and sewing-- he can do anything!

pg. 15

Touya: You mean... a kid about this tall, with straight hair?

He holds up a hand to indicate height.

Sakura: Yeah, about that tall. You know Eriol-kun?

Touya: ...If that's the kid I met.

pg. 16

Fujitaka: I'd like to meet him too, this Eriol-kun.

Sakura: I'll ask him to come over to play sometime!

Fujitaka: Well, shall we eat before the pancakes get cold?

Sakura: OKAY!

pg. 17

Outside, Sakura rollerblades down the street.

Sakura: Feels good to be out this early--

She glances toward a familiar corner.

Sakura: Yep, Yukito-san's definitely not there.

pg. 18

Sakura [narration]: Since then, I haven't seen Yukito-san even once. I haven't seen him on the way to school, and he hasn't come over to the house to play. I hope nothing else has happened to him... I'd be really glad to see him now. But I don't think I'd get flustered like I used to. I'd still feel all giddy and "hanyaaaaaan," but I think it'd be a gentler kind of feeling. My being able to think like this... it's because of Shaoran-kun, isn't it?

pg. 19

Sakura: I wish I could do something to thank him. (What should I do...?)

She pauses to read a sign on a nearby telephone pole.

Sakura: (A summer festival!) At the Tsukimine Shrine! (This Sunday...) ...........

She ponders.

Sakura: THAT'S IT!

pg. 20

At school, Sakura comes charging into the classroom. Shaoran is standing there holding a small bouquet of flowers.

Sakura: SHAORAN-KUN, DO YOU WANT TO GO TO A FESTIVAL?

Shaoran: Eh?

Sakura: A FESTIVAL! THIS SUNDAY! AT TSUKIMINE SHRINE!

Shaoran is speechless.

Sakura: Oh! Maybe you have something else to do? Are you busy on Sunday?

Shaoran: N-n- no, not busy...

pg. 21

Sakura: OKAY! So come to my house at 6 on Sunday!

Shaoran: O- okay.

Sakura: Promise!

They pinky-swear, and Shaoran turns red.

Sakura: I'll go get water for these, okay?

She runs off with the flowers. Shaoran is incapable of doing anything but gaping after her.

pg. 22

Eriol: I'm glad to see Sakura-san is back to her usual smiling self.

Shaoran turns to the other boy in surprise.

Eriol: Thank you very much.

Shaoran: What for?

Eriol: Because the one who has cheered her up again is you.

pg. 23

Shaoran: I haven't done anything. Anyway, why are YOU thanking me?

Eriol merely smiles impenetrably.

Sakura: Ah! Eriol-kun, good morning! (You're here early, aren't you?)

Eriol: Good morning. (I needed to go to the library, so--)

Sakura: (I woke up early.)

Shaoran gazes at Eriol with a slight frown.

pg. 24

On Tuesday Sakura shows up to school with bandages on two fingers.

(Tomoyo: Are you all right?
Sakura: Yeah, I'm fine!
Shaoran: *alarm*)

Wednesday: Bandages on three fingers.

(Shaoran: It's getting worse, isn't it?
Sakura: *sweatdrop* Not at all...)

Thursday: Bandages on six fingers.

(Shaoran: It IS getting worse!
Sakura: R-really?)

Friday: Bandages on nine fingers.

(Shaoran: YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING DANGEROUS, AREN'T YOU?!
Sakura: Ahahahahaha! *sweatdrops*
Tomoyo: *blinks*)

pg. 25

Saturday: Bandages on all fingers and a few more on her hands.

Shaoran: *grabbing her hands* DON'T TELL ME IT'S "NOTHING"! WHEN YOU KEEP GETTING HURT LIKE THIS--!

Sakura: No, really, it's nothing to worry about...

Shaoran: *looking downward* Is it something you can't tell me?

Sakura: Shaoran-kun......

Tomoyo suddenly appears at Sakura's side, smiling.

Tomoyo: Sakura-chan promised to come shopping with me today.

She drags her off cheerfully.

Sakura: *waving back at Shaoran* Really, I'm okay! I'll be waiting for you at my house at six tomorrow!

Shaoran: (Ah-) *sweatdrop*

Eriol looks on and smiles.

pg. 26

The two girls walk down the street.

Sakura: Thanks--

Tomoyo: (Not at all.) Do you think you'll make it in time?

Sakura: If I don't sleep today, I'll get it done somehow.

Tomoyo: Can I help?

Sakura: (Thanks, but...) I want to see if I can do it myself. You know, he said he likes somebody else now, but because Shaoran-kun liked Yukito-san before, too, he listened to me.

pg. 27

Sakura: I talked about Yukito-san and cried a lot... along with my tears, the hurt was washed away completely. I think it was because Shaoran-kun listened to me that I was able to feel better. So I really need to tell him "thank you" somehow. I'm trying my hardest.

Tomoyo: I'm sure he'll understand.

pg. 28

Sakura: Thank you, Tomoyo-chan. For thinking about me, for helping me so many times-- I'm really grateful. If anything happens to bother you or make you sad, tell me, okay? If there's anything I can do, I'll do anything.

Tomoyo: If you're here and smiling, nothing will make me sad.

pg. 29

Tomoyo: Because my happiness is your being happy.

pg. 30

On Sunday, at Sakura's house. Shaoran rings the doorbell, his heart thumping.

Sakura: *dressed in yukata, excessively cute* COME IN! (You're right on time!)

pg. 31

Sakura: (This is my dad's room.)

Shaoran: (?)

Sakura: (This is my dad.)

Fujitaka: *bowing* Good evening. I'm Kinomoto Fujitaka.

Shaoran: *bowing, turning red* Good evening. Ri Shaoran.

Sakura: (Go ahead, Dad!)

Fujitaka: (All right.)

She leaves the room.

Shaoran: (???) *sweatdrops*

Fujitaka: Well, shall we get you changed?

He holds out a boy's striped yukata.

Fujitaka: Into this.

pg. 32

Fujitaka: Sakura made this yukata.

Shaoran: EH!?

Fujitaka: Because there was someone she truly wanted to give it to, she asked me to teach her how to make a yukata in four days. Even though she's not the best at sewing, she worked quite hard to make it all by herself.

Shaoran [thinking]: So-- she-- hurt her fingers--

pg. 33

Fujitaka: So, will you try it on?

Shaoran [thinking]: Eh? *looks wide-eyed at Fujitaka* Somehow he seems a lot like Hiiragizawa...

Fujitaka: (I'll help, is that all right?)

Shaoran: (Yessir!) *sweatdrops* *turns red*

pg. 34

Kero: Lucky-- lucky-- a festivaaaaal!

Sakura: I'll bring something back for you!

Kero: *jealous* (Hmph.)

Fujitaka [from downstairs]: Sakura-saaan, the preparations are finished!

Sakura: Co--ming!

Sakura [to Kero]: Okay, I'm off!

Kero: All right! You be careful.

She leaves, closing the door. Kero perches on the bed and smiles.

Kero: ... I'm glad she's feeling better.

pg. 35

Sakura: WOW! It's great! You look great!

Shaoran looks down at himself and turns red.

Sakura: So, let's go to the festival!

Fujitaka: (Please go ahead and wear these geta.)

Shaoran: (Yessir!)

Sakura: See you later--!

Fujitaka: Take care!

Shaoran: *bowing deeply* (Thank you very much.)

pg. 36

They walk down the street together.

Shaoran: ...Um... th- thank you. F... for the... yukata.

Sakura: I'm the one who should be thanking you.

She takes a small something out of her handbag: Shaoran's handkerchief.

pg. 37

Sakura: For what you did the other day... thank you.

She holds it out to him.

pg. 38

Sakura: Tomoyo-chan's waiting to meet us at Tsukimine Shrine. I invited Oniichan and Yukito-san to come later, too.

Shaoran gazes at her with concern.

Sakura: It's all right.

pg. 39

Sakura: I really do care about Yukito-san like he's part of my family now.

pg. 40

On a streetcorner, Yukito and Touya are standing. Yukito looks at Touya with a touch of worry.

Yukito: Are you okay?

Touya: It's just the usual. Don't worry about it.

Yukito: I'm really happy, though... that Sakura-chan invited me to the festival.

He looks down.

Yukito: I knew that her feelings for me weren't entirely the same as her feelings for her dad.

pg. 41

Yukito: But if I hadn't said what I did, she wouldn't have been able to sort herself out... And I didn't want Sakura-chan to miss finding her real number-one person because of her feelings for me...

pg. 42

Yukito: ...I knew she'd be sad, but I thought it was best to say what I did... Even though she smiled... I'm sure she'll be less than thrilled to see me...

He blinks in surprise as a hand settles on the back of his head. Touya pats him a bit awkwardly.

Touya: She thought about your answer in her own way, and accepted it.

pg. 43

Touya: She's feeling perky again now. *sigh* Annoyingly so.

He smiles over at Yuki.

Touya: That's why she invited you to come, don't you suppose?

Yukito: *smiling* ...Yeah.

pg. 44

Sakura: Tomoyo-chaaaan!

Tomoyo: *sparkle sparkle* Waa! I get to film you in a yukata--what bliss!

She blushes, clinging to her camcorder.

Tomoyo: Ri-kun looks awfully nice, too.

Shaoran turns red.

Tomoyo: That's Sakura-chan, all right, finishing things with style.

pg. 45

Sakura: Ah! Oniichan and Yukito-san! *waving* (Over here!)

pg. 46

Somewhere, in a nearby tree....

Nakuru: Heh heh heh! *heart* I've always wanted to go to a Japanese festival! *heart*

Spinel: Are you wearing a girl's yukata again? (And you had Eriol make it especially...)

Nakuru: (So what? It looks good, doesn't it?)

pg. 47

Eriol: On a day like this, I'd really like to let them be, but...

He smiles with distinct evilness.

Eriol: It can't be helped, can it?
