Sakura is dreaming-- of Tokyo Tower, no less. In her dream, the sun and moon are being mysteriously shrouded by dark clouds.

Sakura [thinking]: The sun and the moon are being hidden...

She sees two shadowy figures... who suspiciously resemble Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun.

Sakura [thinking]: They look like Kero-chan and Yue-san...

She remembers Clow's words of warning to her: "From now on, I'm afraid that 'I' will cause trouble for you, but... since it's you... there's no doubt that you'll be fine."

A figure wearing sweeping robes and carrying a tall staff stands in the darkness: Eriol.

Sakura [thinking]: ......You are......

Sakura [thinking]: That staff... it's like Clow-san's.......

She clutches her hands to her chest and mumbles something while Tokyo Tower looms in the background: "...Whe.....sun.....ses.....everyone...wi.....ken." {This is meant to be unintelligible. ^_^;}

Morning has come. Sakura awakens, looking uneasy.

Sakura: The person in my dream just now...

Kero sits up and listens.

Sakura: It was the same person I saw in the pond at Tsukimine Shrine...

Kero: That's a dream of foretelling.

They get up and move to Sakura's desk.

Sakura: But why did I remember the dream today, do you think?

Kero: The "Clow Cards" have all changed into "Sakura Cards." Your magical power has certainly gotten stronger. It's probably because of that that you were able to remember.

Sakura: But that means all the dreams I've been forgetting until now...

Kero: *frowning* Someone must have been interfering with them by magic.

Sakura: Who would do something like that.....?

Kero: ....I dunno. But I'm sure those people in your dream have something to do with it. And also, you heard Clow's voice in the dream, didn't you?

Sakura: I heard the same voice that I heard the time when Yue-san accepted me as the new master of the Cards. It said, "From now on, I'm afraid that 'I' will cause trouble for you, but... since it's you... there's no doubt that you'll be fine."

Kero: *frowning* If it were the time when the Cards were scattered, I'd understand it, but you've definitely become their new master. Why would Clow be trying to cause problems for you now?

Sakura: I don't know. But...

Sakura: Why is it that whenever weird things happen, I always sense Clow-san?

Sakura: And also... the person in my dream... was carrying a staff just like the one I saw Clow-san with before.

Sakura: But didn't he die a long time ago?

Kero: Yeah. But Clow's power was really incredible. In his case, it's possible that even after death, his magic could be used.

Sakura: ...I'm going to go and see.

Kero: *puzzled* Go where?

Sakura: To the place I saw in my dream.

Shaoran: *astonished* You're going to a place you saw in a dream!?

Sakura: I think it was Tokyo Tower. Why did the people in my dream look like Yue-san and Kero-chan? Who was the person carrying the staff like Clow-san's? What's going to happen there? ...I want to go and see.

Shaoran: Wasn't it the same guy that you saw that time you did the moon fortune-telling, and asked whether there was anything you needed to be careful of?

Sakura: Yeah.

She makes her hands into fists and radiates genkiness.

Sakura: But I'll be fine! Kero says my magic power has gotten really strong!

Shaoran: Are you going today?

Sakura: *smiling* Yep! Both Oniichan and Dad are gone today. (And Tokyo Tower isn't far from here.)

Shaoran: ...I'm going too. If Clow really has something to do with it, I probably won't be able to do anything, but--

Sakura: That's not true.

She smiles.

Sakura: You always help me.

Shaoran: *looking down* I haven't...

She blushes just the slightest.

Sakura: You do help me. All the time. And more than that... just by knowing that you're with me, I feel safe.

Shaoran's eyes widen.

As she stands there smiling at him, he remembers Tomoyo's words. "Even if you made her aware of your feelings, I'm sure she'd accept them, and give you a Sakura-chan kind of answer."

He swallows.

Shaoran: Um...!

Sakura: *brightly* What is it?

Sakura: Huh?

Shaoran: It can wait until... after today is over.

Sakura: All right. After we come back from Tokyo Tower, you tell me, okay?

She holds out a hand.

Sakura: Promise.

Shaoran smiles slightly.

They pinky-swear. Inside the school building, Tomoyo is watching at the window, smiling. She turns as Eriol comes up behind her, carrying a stack of papers.

Eriol: You're always doing that, aren't you? Watching Sakura-san with gentle eyes.

She smiles at him.

Tomoyo: Like you, Hiiragizawa-kun.

He looks startled for a moment, then smiles back. Outside, Sakura is smiling at Shaoran.

After school, Sakura arrives home.

Sakura: I'M BAA-ACK!

A letter awaits her in the mailbox.

Sakura: AH! IT'S FROM MIZUKI-SENSEI!

She runs into the house and opens it. It reads:

Kinomono Sakura-sama,
I received your reply. Thank you very much. I always enjoy letters from you. It sounds as if all sorts of dreadful things are still going on, but to be honest, I think that those too will soon be over.

Sakura: *astonished* TODAY!?

Fujitaka: Welcome back.

Sakura: (Oh!) Hi. *looking dismayed* (I was going to do the laundry!)

Fujitaka: *smiling* (Since I had some time before I have to go, I thought I'd do just a little bit.)

He looks at her more closely, his eyes widening.

Fujitaka: .................

Sakura: (Huh?) What is it? (Is there something on my face?!)

Sakura: (EH?!) How did you know!?

She blinks.

Sakura: Is that becauase you're my dad, too?

He smiles at her with great affection.

He puts his arms around her shoulders.

Inside the old house with the pine trees in front, Eriol sits alone in a high-backed chair. His eyes are closed; he slowly opens them as Spinel flies into the room.

Spinel: ...Have you made a decision?

Eriol: *smiling* Can you tell?

Spinel: It's because I've known you for a long time, too. Ever since you made us, you've remained in the form of a child. How long are you going to stay like this?

He smiles fondly.

At that moment, Nakuru flounces through the door, schoolbag in hand.

Eriol: Hello.

Nakuru: There's a letter for you, Eriollll--

Nakuru: *bouncing and radiating hearts* Guess what--! Today I had lunch with Touya-kun and Tsukishiro-kun--! *heart* Touya-kun hated every minute of it, but Tsukishiro-kun was smiley smiley like always! (I guess they're at work together today, but maybe I should go and see them anyway--)

Spinel: *sweatdrop* Are you still interested in him? He's already lost all his magic, hasn't he?

Nakuru: YEAH. *peeved* Eriol just let him give it to Tsukishiro-kun without doing anything to stop him.

Nakuru drapes his/herself over the side of Eriol's chair.

Nakuru: Really, Eriol, why did you come here to Tomoeda District? What's the thing that you want? Obviously it must have something to do with Sakura-chan, right?

Eriol merely smiles.

Nakuru: (Hmm--but still.) Considering that, it makes me wonder, maybe you're not being serious enough, maybe you're being too soft about this.

Eriol stands, taking his letter with him, and smiles over his shoulder at the others.

Eriol: ...You'll find that out tonight as well.

[The return address on the letter reads "Mizuki Kaho."]

Below Tokyo Tower. Sakura's latest costume is an pleated, empire-waisted dress that looks unfortunately like a lamp shade.

Tomoyo: *blushing violently* Yet another outfit that looks waaaay too good on you--! *heart*

She swoons, almost taking her camcorder down with her.

Sakura: (Ack!) Uh... um, um, being in a place like this, wearing something like this is kind of... um...

Tomoyo: *heart* Don't worry!! Everyone will just think you're part of some kind of film shoot!

Sakura: *blushing furiously* (That... that would be really embarrassing--)

Tomoyo: And even Ri-kun is wearing his ceremonial costume!

Shaoran: (EH?) *defensively* I wear this so that if anything happens, I'll be able to move easily...

Tomoyo: *sparkle sparkle* With both of you together, it looks more and more like a film shoot!! (Some kind of action saga? Or a special-effects feature about our heroine?!)

Sakura: (That's why I said it's kind of...)

Tomoyo: *back to normal* ...But the place seems to be deserted.

Shaoran: Is it always like this?

Tomoyo: No, even on weekdays there are usually lots of people milling around.

Sakura: Come to think of it... during the times when I sense Clow's power and weird things happen, nobody ever comes, do they?

Kero: *from Tomoyo's bag* That's true.

Shaoran: *alarmed* So somebody has been keeping all the other people away?

The four below look up in startlement... and see Eriol, dressed in wizardly robes, gazing down at them from a ledge on the side of the Tower.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the vicinity... Touya and Yukito are working at a flower shop. Tokyo Tower is visible not far in the background.

Touya: *glowering* ...Damn that Akizuki.

[Sign: 800 yen per bunch]

Yuki: *smiling perkily* But it's fun to eat lunch together with everyone. (Akizuki-san's rice balls are really good, don't you think?)

Touya: (Now just a minute.) *sweatdrop* Come on, that guy's a...

Yukito's eyes suddenly flash wide open. He stares straight ahead.

Touya: Yuki?

White wings unfurl, magic swirls and sparkles, and Touya stares in astonishment as Yue appears before him {in a transformation scene even more stylin' than usual.}

Yue: *darkly* ... A crisis is threatening my master.

Sakura: ERIOL-KUN!?

Eriol smiles mildly.

Kero: The transfer student you were talking about earlier!?

Sakura: Y...yeah.

Kero: Why does it feel like he's exactly the same as Clow!?

Sakura: *gasping* IT DOES...!

Eriol continues to smirk.

Shaoran: How is this happening!?

Voice from above: Like this.

For a moment, Nakuru smiles down at them.

Sakura: Akizuki-san from... my brother's class!?

Nakuru: That's right. But my real name is--

S/he transforms and appears in a cloud of glitter.

Ruby Moon: --Ruby Moon.

Spinel: *hovering* You haven't met me before, have you?

The next moment, Spinel Sun is standing next to Ruby Moon, both of them sparkling prodigiously.

Kero: WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS!?

Spinel Sun: It's because Ruby Moon and I, Spinel Sun, were made by the same person who created you and Yue.

Eriol: O key that conceals the power of darkness, reveal your true form before me. Under the contract, I, Eriol, command you!

His radiant-star staff appears; power swirls around him.

Eriol: RELEASE.

Eriol: Because there's something I want, Kerberos.

[The magician's original figure seems to loom above Eriol as he speaks.]

Kero: *distressed* Clow...!!

Eriol looks down at the assembled group with satisfaction.

Eriol: Well then, shall we begin?

He raises a vortex of dark power around him.

A beam of pure power shoots skyward, far up into the atmosphere above Tokyo Tower.

Gradually, the sky begins to darken. As if in an eclipse, shadows are covering up the sun and moon.

Tomoyo, Shaoran, Kero, and Sakura stare in dismay.

Sakura: The sun and moon! THEY'RE BEING HIDDEN!!

At that moment, Tomoyo collapses. Sakura catches her before she can hit the ground.

Sakura: TOMOYO-CHAN!

Kero: TOMOYO!

Despite their efforts, she does not wake.

... A short distance away, Touya and Yue are racing towards the Tower.

Yue: This is Clow's power...!

In mid-stride, Touya collapses.

Yue: *whirling* WHAT'S WRONG!?

There is no answer. Yue cradles Touya's unconscious form in his arms.

Yue: This is...!

All around, the people of Tomoeda District appear to have suddenly fallen asleep: Chiharu and Takashi on a park bench; Naoko at her desk; Terada-sensei and Rika in the library; Daidouji Sonomi in her mansion; random people on the streets.

Back at the Tower, Shaoran clenches his fists and staggers, but remains on his feet.

Sakura: SHAORAN-KUN!!

Shaoran: ...What have you done!?

Eriol: I've called the darkness. This entire city has been engulfed by it.

He closes his eyes.

Eriol: I have put all the people of this city to sleep.

Shaoran: WHAT!?

Eriol: To be honest, I had intended for you to be put to sleep as well, but... you've grown strong, haven't you?

He smiles.

Sakura: (EH!?)

Eriol: If this continues, even when the time for night to end and day to dawn arrives, if the darkness has not been cleared away, the people of this city will continue to sleep for all eternity.

Sakura: Eternity... you mean forever!?

He smiles. Holding Tomoyo, Sakura stares back at him in horror.
