Text: "If this continues, everyone will be trapped in sleep forever." 2-page color image: Winged Sakura in a white dress with blue trim, sitting on a lamppost, holding her staff. Cherry blossoms blow around her. {Sounds odd but is a pretty cool picture.} pg 7: Tomoyo remains unconscious; Shaoran is struggling. Sakura: HOW CAN I WAKE EVERYONE UP!? Eriol: The only way is to undo the darkness by defeating my magic with your magic. pg. 8: Sakura: It can't be...! Kero: There's no way that Sakura as she is now could defeat Clow's power! Eriol: Even as you hesitate, time is running out, Sakura-san. pg. 9 Sakura: No! I can't use magic against you, Eriol-kun! Eriol: ...Well then. To help Sakura-san work up some fighting spirit, let's play for a bit, shall we? Spinel Sun looms above Eriol. pg. 10 He opens his jaws and aims a blast of destructive power directly at Sakura. Sakura: AH!! Kerberos flings up his wings and forms a shield over himself, Sakura, Shaoran, and Tomoyo. Spinel Sun: Not bad at all. But how about this? pg. 11 Eriol raises his staff and sends a sphere of power up to where Spinel is hovering. Spinel aims it towards Kero, who has launched himself into the air as well. Kero retaliates with his own blast. pg. 12 Spinel's proves the stronger: Kero is buffeted and flung to the ground. Sakura: KERO-CHAN!! Kerberos: Shit--! pg. 13 Ruby Moon: There's an awfully big difference between the power of the two masters, isn't there? Sakura looks on desperately as Kero drags himself upright. pg. 14 Taking advantage of the moment, Spinel aims another blast at the children below. It is countered by a sudden volley of crystalline projectiles which shield Sakura and Shaoran. pg. 15 Sakura: YUE-SAN!! He floats down to the ground, carrying Touya with him. Sakura: ONIICHAN! WHAT'S WRONG!? Yue carefully leans him up against a convenient tree. {Tree? ^_^;} Yue: He's sleeping. Sakura: Even Oniichan!? pg. 16 Yue: ...It's because he gave all his power to me. He turns his violet-silver eyes toward the figure on the tower. Yue: Clow...! Eriol: *smiling* This is the second time I've seen you, isn't it. pg. 17 Yue: ...The first time, even though I ought to have returned to my true form, I was changed back into "Yukito." I can't remember what happened then, but... did you do it? He gazes up at Eriol, searchingly. Eriol continues to smile. Eriol: It would have been problematic for you to recognize me at that time. pg. 18 Yue lowers his gaze, his face taut with the pain of betrayal. Yue: ...If you were reborn, why did you let me choose a new master...? Eriol does not reply. Ruby Moon: If Yue's arrived, then it's me he should be dealing with. pg. 19 Eriol raises his staff and directs his magic toward Ruby Moon, who lifts one gloved arm with a blaze of power. pg. 20 He lunges through the air toward Yue, swiping at him. Yue dodges, but a lock of his long hair is sliced off. At this, he levels a glare over his shoulder which is something between pouty and sultry. pg. 21 Ruby Moon: *smiling* Even after you took all of Touya-kun's power and everything! I guess this shows the difference between the masters, too, hmm? Sakura clutches her hand to her chest. Kerberos: *snarling* IT'S NOT SAKURA'S FAULT! pg. 22 He charges upward. Kerberos: This time we aren't just playing! PREPARE YOURSELVES! Spinel Sun and Ruby Moon smile with anticipation. Sakura: STOP!! pg. 23 They pause and look downward. On the ground, Sakura turns to Shaoran. Sakura: Shaoran-kun...! Please take care of Tomoyo-chan and Oniichan...! Though beads of sweat still cling to his face, he smiles at her. Shaoran: I will. pg. 24 Sakura whirls toward Eriol, her brows furrowed. Sakura: I DON'T GET IT! Why are you doing this!? Eriol-kun! Clow-san! You've always helped me before, so WHY!? pg. 25 Eriol narrows his eyes, his smile turning dangerous. Eriol: If you want to hear the answer to that, defeat my magic first. pg. 26 Eriol: Morning is approaching. Don't you care if no one ever wakes up again? Sakura: YES! She clenches her hands. Sakura: But... but...! pg. 27 Eriol tilts his head. He aims his staff at Sakura. Yue: LOOK OUT!! Sakura: RELEASE!! pg. 28 Sakura: SHIELD!! The Card forms a barrier protecting Shaoran, Tomoyo, and Touya from Eriol's fire. Sakura runs, dodging the attacks from above. pg. 29 Sakura: WATERY!! The Card creates a flood which dissolves Eriol's blasts. pg. 30 Eriol: *under his breath* ...Two left. Yue: !? Eriol rains another volley on Sakura. Sakura: JUMP!! She leaps into the air with the Card's power, but is struck by one of Eriol's blasts. pg. 31 Yue and Kero: SAKURA!! They start toward her, but are blocked by Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun. Ruby Moon: Hold it. The two of us are your opponents. Sakura plummets toward the earth... pg. 32 ...and then is lifted by a sudden wind. Shaoran: FUUKA SHOURAI!! It sets her down gently on the ground as Shaoran doubles over in pain. Sakura: SHAORAN-KUN! Shaoran: Sh...! pg. 33 Eriol: He really shouldn't be using magic in his present condition. Shaoran: *clenching his teeth violently* SHIT...! He falls to his knees. Sakura: SHAORAN-KUN!! pg. 34 Eriol: If you wish to help him and everyone else, defeat my magic. Sakura grips her staff and stares at him, pissed. He smiles slightly. pg. 35 Sakura: Wind! Become a chain that punishes! WINDY! The Card attacks Eriol, but his shield deflects her. Sakura: Ah! Eriol: I won't be caught with the same magic as Yue. pg. 36 Sakura: FLY!! The Card's wings unfurl on her back, and she starts toward Eriol, dodging a storm of magical fire. Turning, Kero notices her danger. Kerberos: SAKURA!! One of Sakura's wings is struck. pg. 37 Sakura: KYAAAAAA! She loses control as the wing burns and goes down in flames. Her fall is broken by the nearby trees. {Trees?} Kerberos: SHIT! His and Yue's eyes go wild. pg. 38 They charge at Spinel Sun and Ruby Moon. Kerberos: OUT OF OUR WAY!! Spinel and Ruby are momentarily pushed back by the furious attack, and Yue and Kero fly past. Kerberos: SAKURA!! pg. 39 Ruby and Spinel watch them go. Ruby Moon: Hmmm. Our power is greater, but still. Spinel Sun: It must be because they're defending their master. The remaining Cards are hovering around Sakura where she has fallen. She smiles at them. Sakura: You're worried about me, aren't you... thank you. pg. 40 She hops down from the tree just as Kero and Yue arrive. Kerberos: Are you all right!? Sakura: Yeah. Sakura [thinking]: How can I defeat Eriol-kun's magic without hurting him!? She hold out two Cards: the Light and the Dark. Sakura [thinking]: Altogether there are 19 Cards. 17 of them have changed into Sakura Cards. The only ones that are still Clow Cards are... She stares at the two in her hand. Sakura [thinking]: OH! pg. 41 Sakura [thinking]: Those words in my dream...... Text: ...whe.....sun.....ses.....everyone...wi.....ken. Sakura: "WHEN THE SUN RISES, EVERYONE WILL AWAKEN"!! pg. 42 Sakura: The Light Card told me before that light is what shines in the darkness! She holds up the Card. Sakura: Maybe Light can make this darkness disappear! Light does not respond. pg. 43 Sakura: It won't change into a Sakura Card!? Kerberos: Light and Dark are the most powerful cards after us. Is your magic not strong enough to change them!? Sakura: It has to be! She closes her eyes against threatening tears. Sakura [thinking]: If this keeps up, everyone will be trapped in sleep forever! I can't! I can't let that happen! pg. 44 Kerberos [to Yue]: It's our turn, isn't it. Yue: ...Yes. Kerberos [to Sakura]: Light and Dark are always together. They should be together when they change, as well. But if you can't change one, then changing two would be.... Anyway, we may be able to help you. Sakura: ...But the don't the Cards only obey the word of their master!? Yue: ...Yes. pg. 45 Kerberos: It looks like no one can use the power of the Sakura Cards without that staff. Sakura: So how can you help me? Yue: You must take the two of us into that staff. If we are within it, our power will reach the Cards as well. Sakura: But if I do that, will you be okay!? Will you be able to get back to normal!? Eriol: If you are able to dispel the darkness, they will be able to return. pg. 46 Sakura: ...And if I still can't change the Light Card.......? Eriol: Then their fate will be the same as everyone's. I expect they would continue to sleep forever within the staff. Sakura: NO!! She flings herself at Yue and Kero, knocking her hat off in the process, and clings to them. Their eyes widen. Sakura: If I can't do it, I'll never be able to see you again!! Over her shoulder, Yue smiles just the slightest. pg. 47 He kneels down and puts his hands on her shoulders. Yue: But if you do nothing, there are others whom you will never meet again. Kero picks up her fallen hat in his mouth. Kerberos: It'll be all right. You possess the invincible spell. She puts on her hat and wipes her tears. pg. 48 Sakura: ......There's no doubt that....... I'll be fine. pg. 49 She raises her staff. Magic swirls; Yue and Kero dissolve and then re-form into brilliant spheres of power. pg. 50 The spheres are absorbed into the staff, which doubles in length and develops wings and a nine-pointed double star on the tip. Sakura lifts it towards Light and Dark. Sakura: Please! CHANGE!! pg. 51 She directs all of her power at the Cards. It surrounds them, swirling furiously. pg. 52 She keeps straining, but nothing seems to happen. Then another pair of hands closes on the staff, covering hers. Sakura: SHAORAN-KUN!? Despite being barely able to stand himself, he wraps his arms around her, supporting her from behind. pg. 53 Shaoran: ...I've got some of Clow Reed's blood, too... Maybe... I can help you just a little bit...! Sakura: But if you do, you'll...! Shaoran: ...Since it's you, I have no doubt....... It'll be fine. Sakura: ...Okay. pg. 54 Shaoran: LET'S GO! SAKURA!! Sakura: RIGHT! Together they concentrate their magic on Light and Dark. Power crackles around the Cards. pg. 55 Shaoran winces, clenching his teeth. His grip on the staff loosens; he falls backwards, unconscious. Sakura: SHAORAN-KUN!! {Judging by size of text, probably the loudest of a lot of loud screams in this chapter.} pg. 56 She leans down over him, her expression desperate. Sakura [thinking]: If I can't change the Cards, I'll never see Shaoran-kun again. Her grip on the staff turns to iron. Sakura [thinking]: I WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN!! pg. 57 She focuses all her energy and stares at the Cards. Sakura [thinking]: I can do it. Believe in Kero-chan and Yue-san! Believe in the Cards! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! pg. 58 Sakura [thinking]: IT'LL BE FINE!! The Cards change. pg. 69 Sakura: LIGHT!! Light rises upward with her arms outstretched. Her shining bathes Sakura and Shaoran. pg. 60-61 Radiance fills the sky above Tokyo Tower, and the darkness disintegrates. pg. 62 Ruby Moon: Well, well, well. She went and defeated your magic, didn't she? Spinel Sun: This is what you wanted, isn't it? Eriol: *gazing upward calmly* ...Yes. With this, it's finally over. pg. 63 Holding Shaoran in one arm, her staff in the other, Sakura looks up at the light. Shaoran's eyes open. Shaoran: ...You did it? Sakura: Yeah. Tears well in her eyes. Sakura: ...Thank you. She throws both arms around him. Sakura: ...Thank you so much....!! pg. 64 Shaoran: ...I didn't do anything... Even at the very end, I couldn't help you... She shakes her head. Sakura: I did my very best because you were here. pg. 65 Magic swirls from her staff, and soon Kero and Yue rematerialize. The staff returns to normal. Kerberos: *smiling proudly* You did good. Sakura: Kero-chan, Yue-san... thank you...! pg. 66 Kerberos: You don't have to thank us. We did it because we're your friends. Yue smiles, and Sakura smiles back. Over by the trees, Tomoyo begins to stir. Tomoyo: Sakura-chan...? Sakura: Tomoyo-chan! pg. 67 She runs over to the pair under the tree. Tomoyo: *clutching her arm* ...You're all right!? Sakura: I'm fine! Are you okay? Tomoyo: Yes. Touya's eyes remain closed. Sakura: *alarmed* What about Oniichan!? Yue: It'll all right. He'll wake up soon. pg. 68 Eriol: Sakura-san. He has descended from his ledge and stands a short distance away. Kero and Yue immediately leap between him and Sakura, staring at him with hard eyes. Eriol: It's over now, so I'm not going to do anything. He stands smiling, with Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun beside him. pg. 69 Sakura: ..."Over," you say.... What does that mean? Eriol: One thing first. Even though you've used Light, the real sun has not yet risen. Unless you use Dark to make it night again, there'll be quite a fuss. Sakura: Oh...! pg. 70 He continues to smile at her serenely. She gazes back with some confusion, then raises her staff. Sakura: DARK! pg. 71 The Card rises high into the air, and once again the night sky appears. The two Cards then return to Sakura. pg. 72 They are joined by the others, which arrange themselves into a stack and settle into her hands. Sakura: Now you've all been changed. pg. 73 She hugs them close to her. Sakura: Made by the power of the stars, my Sakura Cards. Eriol watches her with apparent pleasure. pg. 74 Kerberos: *snarling* All right! How about if you explain a few things, Clow!! Sakura looks at him in surprise; his teeth are bared. Kerberos: Why create these imitations and let them bother Sakura?!! Even Yue's eyes are filled with mistrust. pg. 75 Sakura: I want to know, too! Why did you do all this? Eriol-kun...! Her eyes suddenly widen hugely as she stares at him, and she jerks backward in shock. Sakura: WHAT!! [To be continued.]
