Sakura: *sorrowfully* ...You're leaving today, aren't you?

Eriol: *smiling* Yes.

Tomoyo: It's too bad.

Sakura: And we wanted to see you to the airport...

Kaho: Well, it's Saturday. Since you have class, it can't be helped.

[Note: Sorry! Ignore what I said about cram school. I was tripping when I wrote that. The kids just have class on Sat. as well.]

Sakura: *to Kaho* Is it all right if I write letters to you again? And to Eriol-kun, too?

Sakura beams.

Tomoyo: I'll write, too.

Eriol: Thank you very much.

Kaho: (OH! That's right!) I have something to give you!

Sakura: (Um...) Huh?

Kaho: Hm?

She puts a finger to her forehead and puzzles.

Kaho: (Now where did I put them? In my room? In the hallway? Here? There?)

Eriol: *chuckling* Those packages? There were three of them.

Kaho: Yes, those!

Eriol: They're on the mantel in the living room.

Kaho: *turning red* (Oh...)

Kaho: Earlier I was thinking I musn't forget them, so I put them somewhere I'd be sure to see them! Wait a minute while I go and get them!

She dashes back toward the house.

Sakura: *taken aback* ... So even Mizuki-sensei can be absent-minded.

Eriol: Kaho's actually pretty careless.

Sakura: Huh?

Eriol: *smiling* (She gets lost quite often.)

Tomoyo: (Really?)

Eriol: (She has trouble with remembering streets. Even in England, she's always getting lost.)

Sakura: (Wow------)

Kaho comes rushing back, three small, beribboned packages in her arms.

Kaho: Sorry to keep you waiting!

One of the packets slips from her grasp.

Kaho: Oops--

Sakura runs to pick it up and help her, while Eriol watches with a lovey-dovey expression.

Tomoyo: You look at Mizuki-sensei with very kind eyes, don't you? The gentlest eyes I've seen yet.

Eriol smiles.

Eriol: ...You really are an amazingly keen observer.

Kaho: There you are! Presents from England!

She hands one package each to Sakura and Tomoyo.

Sakura: Thank you very much.

Tomoyo: Thank you very much.

Kaho holds out the remaining gift.

Kaho: And this one's for Ri-kun.

Sakura freezes, her heart skipping.

Kaho: Ri-kun called yesterday, and said that because of things that couldn't be avoided, he wouldn't be able to make it.

Thinking of Shaoran, Sakura looks downward and flushes. She reaches to take the package from Kaho.

Sakura: Y...yes......

Sakura: Eriol-kun. *smiling at him* Thank you... so much.

Eriol: *reaching for her hand* ...Please don't forget-- when you learn that someone close to you has gone far away, please think about how your feelings then differ from saying goodbye to me now.

Eriol: I'll look forward to the day we can meet again.

As Sakura and Tomoyo start off, Nakuru comes bounding up, with Spinel hovering close by.

Nakuru: See you later, Sakura-chaaaaan!

Sakura waves.

Tomoyo: They really are wonderful people.

Sakura: Yeah!

The others watch them go.

Nakuru: *hands on hips* Awwww! When we're back in England, I won't be able to toy with Touya-kun and them anymore!

Spinel: *deadpan* Shouldn't it be "play," not "toy"?

Nakuru: It's "play" with Touya-kun, "toy" with Tsukishiro-kun! *hearts*

Spinel sweatdrops.

Nakuru: (Both Touya-kun and Tsukishiro-kun'll be lonely, I suppose, without me around.)

Spinel: (Or relieved, perhaps?)

Nakuru: (WHAT WAS THAT?!)

Watching their antics, Eriol smiles.

Kaho: ...Can I ask? Why did you make the two of them?

Eriol: I knew that Yue and Kerberos would attack to defend Sakura-san at Tokyo Tower, so opponents for the two of them were necessary...

Kaho: That's not all, is it?

Eriol: ...I needed them before that.

He bows his head.

Eriol: ...If I hadn't made them, Kerberos and Yue would have kept searching for Clow Reed within me forever. ...Especially Yue.

He looks back after Nakuru and Spinel.

Eriol: Of course, it's not only that. I've become fond of them in my own way.

Kaho: *smiling* Meaning, in Eriol terms, you care for them a lot.

Eriol: *smiling up at her* You're the only one who says so. Since it seems I'm such a strange fellow with unfathomable motives.

Kaho: All the people I come to like are that way. Sweeter than anyone else on the inside, but shy on the outside.

She closes her eyes.

Kaho: ...You knew, I'm sure? How I feel about you.

Eriol: ...Yes. But how things will turn out in the end, I still don't know.

She reaches to take his hands.

Kaho: If you feel the same way I do, I'm sure it'll be a happy ending.

Eriol: ...I hope Sakura-san is able to meet with her happy ending, too, but--

Kaho: She'll be fine. She's Sakura-chan.

Meanwhile, the two girls are on their way home.

Her entire face turns scarlet.

Tomoyo: *smiling* It's easy to tell from looking at you.
